Seven years of Communications Management at a leading international non-profit organisation, two years of project management at an eLearning firm and two years of editorial experience with Parenting magazine, have allowed me to hone my skills in the following key areas:

(I) Strategy Planning
- Communications Design – defining target audiences, identifying key messages and designing communication strategies to bridge the gap between the two.
- Brand Management & CRM – positioning of ‘brands’ and managing target audience expectations. In the non-profit sector, this would include organizational profiling, fund-raising and advocacy.
- Media Relations – identifying allies, cultivating media relationships towards long term organizational profiling goals, as well as ‘Rapid Response’ media management.

(II) Management of teams and projects
- Creating protocols – establishing (and managing) work processes for smooth functioning of teams; evolving protocols for inter-departmental interactions. Maintaining effective internal communications is a key part of this function.
- Managing resources – Estimating, budgeting and tracking the allocation of resources (both human and material) for projects, to ensure that time, quality and cost deliverables are consistently on track.
- Conducting workshops – capacity building/training and team building. I have facilitated workshops of between 5 and 32 participants, using theatre and education techniques, to improve team skills, for conflict management or to provide communications training and prepare spokespersons for key events.

(III) Communications Production
- Writing – Thorough background research prior to the creation of clear, concise and grammatically sound text. I have experience in writing press releases, human interest features, and scientific / investigative / informative reports.
- Editing - Skills include the conversion of dry informative data into user-friendly materials, meticulous proof-reading and the ability to consistently deliver content designed to appeal to end users’ distinct tastes.
- Video production – My professional experience has prepared me for tight scripting, clear direction, steady camera work and the ability to do voice-overs in English and Hindi.
