Feb 94 to Feb 95: Lummus Crest B.V.

Per+ Hydro Cracker Plant- Shell.- using Silicon Graphics PDMS to build 3D model of all steelwork and civil buildings/foundations, including piperacks and equipment supports. Using Autocad 12 and Autostruct to produce and back draught steel and concrete drawings.

Jan 92 to Oct 92: Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd.

Pertamina project Indonesia.- using Intergraph micro-station and work stations to produce structural drawings of pipe racks, pipe supports, vessel access platforms etc. on residue catalytic cracker complex and crude distillation unit and exchanger/reactor structure. Design of access platforms in liaison with piping team. This project incorporates the worlds largest reactor vessel.

Tioxide project Canada.- using UNIX based Intergraph 4.0.4.6. Model Draft to enhance model extracts to produce structural drawings of the Chlorination Building. This incorporates referencing of files from UNIX networked workstations produced from the structural model and adding the relevant draughting information to suit.

Sep 89 to Jul 90: Lummus Crest B.V.- The Netherlands.

DSM Melamine, Melaf 3.- using structural drawings to produce clash check models in PDMS of plant support structures and P.A.U.'s, in conjunction with NOrternSTeel macro package, and PRIMOS mainframe. Checking of models using tag plots and files. Similar exercises for NESTE P.A.O. plant in Belgium and Australian Clyde project.

Buzzard Field Development - topsides, EnCana (U.K.) Ltd. Part of design team, producing 3D model and 2D drawings using PDMS 14.1 Design and Draft, of wellhead structure, primary & secondary steel layouts and details.

Burullus Gas Company - Scarab/Saffron field development. Using 3D Studio 3.1 to produce animations for training videos for subsea installation of UTA's, UTB's, flying lead frames, suction piles and templates.

Dec 00 to Aug 03: Maris International Ltd.

Continuous Circulation Coupler - JIP developing this continuous drilling fluid circulation system, creating drawings and animation movies/DVD's to illustrate the system to investors and potential customers, sing Autocad 2001, 3D studio 3.1 and MediaStudioPro 6.5.

Subsea Drilling System development including drillpipe containerisation, production of drawings and animations for patent applications and illustration to investors using Autocad 2001, 3D Studio 3.1 and MediaStudioPro 6.5. Some java programming of control systems using Forte 3.0.

Pierce Project -FPSO. Responsible for co-ordination of structural modelling/drafting team on this project, through development to production of general and detail drawings of the pipe rack, process modules, flare tower and hook up requirements, using PDMS Design/Draft, including technical support.

June 96 to May 97: Maris International Ltd.

Subsea Drilling System. Development and design of Subsea Drilling Rig, Processing Plant and Power Plant for use in Kara/Barent Sea for Russia. Modelling in Microstation 5 and 3d Studio' production of flythrough movie and images for presentation to client. Development and design of Bulk Sampling Unit for marine diamond mining in South Africa. Production of drawings and illustrations using Autocad 13 (DOS and Windows 3.11).

Mar 96 to May 96: Kvaerner Instalajion A.S. - Stavanger.

Gulfaks Satellite Project. Training in PDMS 10.5 Design and Draft. Using PDMS to model and produce engineering drawings of Gas Compression Module general arrangement and detail drawings. Created project macros to build padeyes and incorporated them into design menus.

Various draughting duties using Autocad 11 and Pafec D.O.G.S. 4.4 on Appolo system, including Elgin/Franklin jacket studies, in-house material inspection standards and Lasmo topsides development. Piper Field Redevelopment, Occidental Petroleum Ltd.- using PDMS and in-house "Cad-dek" systems in-putting structural 3D model of topsides for inter-discipline clash checking on Piper Bravo project. Seconded to Saltire 'A' project. Responsible for 3D modelling and clash resolution of topsides drilling, production, utilities and well-head modules, and co-ordination of modelling team. Building model from structural drawings using "Cad-dek" digitising system and in liaison with engineering team. Updating of progress report.

Amoco CATS project- 3D clash resolution of topsides PDMS model in architectural team of North Everest, Lomond and riser platforms. Specifically responsible for passive fire protection clash resolution, and up-dating MIRAC and SCAR clash and progress reports.

Sept 87 to Jan 88: Havron Ltd.

M.O.D.- Luce Bay. Working in small engineering team to produce structural drawings, equipment layout and piping drawings of small offshore platform. Responsible for all aspects of draughting and M.T.O., some design and material costing. Production of isometric drawings on Autocad C.A.D. system of offshore re-usable missile testing facility and sub-sea storage tanks. Production of layout and detail drawings of Havron Subsea Control Station for Occidental Petroleum.

Various projects- Sub-sea group draughting pick-up and move-over sequences on Suez Gulf pipeline. Training to use Pafec D.O.G.S. 2D C.A.D. system to produce drawings using tablet/digitizer. Use of Pafec D.O.G.S. to produce sea-fastening drawings for Hamilton Brothers Ravensburn North, Gyda jacket for BP Petroleum, Amoco Montrose top-side equipment plot plans, and Conoco Miller M.S.F..Training to supervise CAD project team for creation of clash check models and drawing using PDMS descon, schema, grout, intercon, clasher and reporter. Three weeks training on Autocad to produce report drawings for sub-sea corrosion inspection. June 82 to Aug 84: Brown and Root U.K. Ltd.

Brae 'B' platform- design draughtsman for Marathon Oil U.K. Ltd. Draughting duties on all aspects of the main jacket structure, ie. plans, elevations, joint node details, flotation tanks and tubes, risers, etc.

Elf Aquitaine Norge A/S- Heimdal development (jacket). Responsible for provision of detail drawings and arrangements of the jacket sub structure in the detailed engineering phase in London. Subsequently seconded to Sofresid office in Paris, responsible for post-production phase draughting activities, ie. fabrication aids, jacket installation procedures, jacket sea-fastening as-builts, J-tube installation, checking fabrication drawings, some site work.

Varied draughting duties for various clients including provision of details and arrangements of pipelines and risers, module draughting, M.T.O. duties. Training on the PDMS 3D CAD system and subsequent participation in the creation of structural CAD catalogues and specifications.

Working on site, surveying existing nine storey office complex for renovation. Using survey to produce fabrication drawings for immediate fabrication of various members of steel lift shaft and other various structures. Design of connections from engineers load inputs and member sizes.

The Meadows, Sandhurst- responsible for co-ordination and supervision of structural design team, producing steelwork and concrete detail and general arrangement drawings for multi-million pound megastore joint venture for Marks and Spencer PLC and Tesco Stores Ltd.

Training to use Intergraph 2D CAD system. Use of Intergraph to produce structural drawings of warehouse and refurbishment of existing building.
