Responsible for technical direction and control of all Civil/Structural design and management on the project.

Main aspect of the project is the design of a large steel framed process module which is to be transported by SMPT's across the site to a permanent location during plant shutdown.

Responsible for handling and the design of connection and members to various types of buildings including Royal Opera House, M&S Manchester, Science Museum London, EAP Seal Sands, OGD II and box encapsulation plant BNFL.

Complex connection design to both seismic and extreme static loading conditions. Designs carried out to various codes including BS5959 and AISC. Checking of main member and connections, arrangement drawings. Fabrication drawings etc.

Working on the Norsk Hydro Oseberg Gas Project.

Responsible for the design of new modularised pipe bridges which are part of a hook up modification to the existing oil production platform.

Pipe bridges are designed for insitu load cases together with sea transportation and lifting design cases.

Design of module installation guides also carried out all in accordance with SAIPEM rules.

All calculations have been carried out in accordance with NS3472E & NORSOK standards.

Worked on the Bieo Holm FPSO Project for Bluewater.

Responsible for the design and analysis of the Top Side Gas Compression and Flare Module.

All analysis carried out using Staad3 and designs to AISC and API Codes.

Module designed for ship Motions, Transportation and Lifting conditions together with local design checks against Green water loading and blast loading.

Working on the Jupiter Project for Union Carbide at the ICI Wilton Plant, Teesside. Responsible for surveying and checking out the structural stability of ex structures which have been extensively modified during previous upgrades.

Worked on the DCFUP (Oil fields upgrade) for Qatar General Petroleum Co (QGPC). Spent three months in Qatar carrying out surveys of existing facilities, supervised Soil Investigation and Land Surveyor contractors.

Working on a Waste Vitrification Plant (WVP Line 3) for BNFL. Duties include static and seismic design of structural steel and reinforced concrete. Also responsible for the design of the Stainless Steel Segregation Dome which involved extensive thermal analysis.

Sept 1994 - Mar 1995 Fluor Daniel, Manchester

Civil/Structural Engineer

Worked on the new De-Inking plant for Bridgewater Paper Mill. Duties include the engineering design of RC structural frames, piled foundations, Pipe racks and structural steel portal frames. All analysis work is carried using Staad 3 computer program.

May 1994 - Sept 1994 Costain Oil Gas And Process

Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

Worked on a North Sea gas refinery project for Enron Teesside. Duties included the design of piled foundations for structures and the design of pipe bridges, cold boxes and Pre-Assembled units.

June 1993 - May 1994 Badger B V, The Hague

Civil/Structural Engineer

Worked on a new oil refinery project for Shell Thailand. Civil engineering suites include the design of piled foundations for reactor columns, exchanger bases, pipe bridges and pump slabs. Also the design of large underground RC water retaining pits and table top structures. Structural engineering duties include the design of tall tower structures, pipe racks and compressor buildings.

Worked on a new Polyethylene production facility, Rayong, Thailand. Duties consisted of designing piled foundations for buildings, pipe bridges and equipment.
