Responsibility for Design and Production. During this period many major contracts were undertaken including design and manufacture of the total support requirements in various plants, in particular we were the preferred supplier for design and supply for ICI. Major contracts were Corvic 9 and Propothene 5 at Runcorn. Also supervised the installation of supports on these projects. Company also undertook the redesign of a complete range of Variable Spring Supports, Constant Load Units and Hydraulic Snubbers. Directly responsible for this process.

1963 - 1970 Carpenter and Paterson

Apprentice Design Engineer

During this period visited the American parent company to gain knowledge of their manufacturing and design processes in particular constant load units, subsequently set up the manufacturing unit to produce these items in the UK. Main design disciplines within training were determination of hanger locations, calculation of loads and thermal movements, selection of appropriate support types.
