SC Clearance

Experienced senior administrator / manager, capable of filling a variety of roles: Administration, Office or Facilities Management; Team or Project Office Management; Marketing, Conference and Event Management, Public Relations Management and Support; Bid Management, Support and Production or Personal Assistant duties.

My varied career has involved a broad range of disciplines, all of which have enhanced my ability to participate quickly and effectively in a host of different activities, as required.

My background and training with the Women's Royal Air Force and Foreign and Commonwealth Office developed my leadership and man-management skills, as well as my experience of dealing with people, at all levels, in commercial, civil service and military environments. I am currently cleared to SC level.

My work in the public sector and running a small charity has all added to my ability to work in and contribute to different environments.

I am not afraid of hard work, long hours, or ‘rolling my sleeves up'.

Employment History

(Jun to Aug 2008)

Stoke Gifford

After taking a couple of months off, I have just completed a short temporary assignment - Programme Office Support in the Wealth Management Programme Office. Supporting the Project Managers and facilitating regular reporting, designing a new calendar to assist the reporting process, creating a project database, upgrading the Risks and Issues logs to a new template and process plus a number of other roles involved with the reporting processes and support functions.

(Mar 2008 to Apr 2008)

Head of Housekeeping

I was responsible for properties in London, Slimbridge, Cold Ashton and Goathurst, with a team of extremely honest, hard-working, but seriously undervalued, Polish staff. A brief encounter (6 weeks) with this unusual organisation, which, as well as being unbelievably slow to pay its bills, appears unable to retain its staff – my two predecessors left after similar periods!

(Sep 2005 to Mar 2008)

Marketing & PR Support Executive

I worked for the Managing Director and 5 divisional business heads, providing support for bids, marketing, internal communications and public relations activities.
Achievements include:
• Colleagues told me I had substantially improved the production, presentation and success-rate of bid submissions;
• In the absence of corporate templates, I designed a set of customer-focussed bid response documents;
• On several occasions I ‘rescued’ bids which have been left late by others and managed to turn them round, meet the deadlines and win:
o One such bid involved working 40 hours, over last August Bank Holiday weekend, in order to meet the deadline to produce a full evidence pack for face-to-face meetings with the client’s assessment team of 17. The business was won and is worth at least £25m to the company over the next 5 years.
o Another was helping out a colleague from another business division who had called in sick. After a long Friday night session tidying it up and ensuring that all the questions had been answered fully, the bid, worth £1m to the division, was won.
• Provided considerable support to over 500 staff in the Nuclear & Power division, based in Bristol, Epsom, Glasgow, Leeds, Oxford, Warrington and Whitehaven.
