CV

I am adaptable and flexible and I am looking for opportunities to develop and enhance my technical skills. Having just gained an MSc in Strategic IT Management This course has provided me with advanced knowledge about strategic plans (writing and understanding), analysing organisational requirements and advancing my office application skills. I am now seeking an opportunity, which will develop these skills and improve them in a business environment. In previous roles I have had experience of supporting the business and generating various reports such as dashboard reports, which show how well projects have gone, and project status reports, which are more detailed. I have had to analyse such reports for the technical leads so that they can understand what changes have been made over the duration of the month and why they may be occurring. If projects have failed or not completed these would be analysed in greater detail, which may involve approaching departments or teams to find out if there have been problems such as environmental, or personnel issues.

I have also had to generate reports and make presentations for the Managing Director at AE Hawkins whilst I was employed there as a KTP Associate. This role was focussed on delivery of smart card technology and implementation of relevant technologies. It was important that there were month by month reports and presentations detailing progress and any future considerations which have to be made including purchases, installations, training for staff or recruitment of staff. I believe this experience will have a positive impact on fulfilling this role.

I have worked with and managed teams of people in technical projects and otherwise and I believe I have the capability to take on a new challenge and impact a company positively. I am hard worker and a team player that is comfortable with working with all types of people and learning new ideas. I am also self motivated and I enjoy a challenge which makes me different as I will be forthcoming to any project and willing to work with anyone. Whilst employed at HBOS and being involved in various testing projects I had the opportunity to steer the team in a positive way. It was made known that there were various inconsistencies in the way in which we were generating test scripts. Therefore based on what I had learned from the wider test team at head office I was able to make a positive impact and create consistency in our approach. It was important that anyone who looked at the test scripts could refer back to the original specification and know what the relation was. However the way various team members were delivering was not inline with standards. Therefore I was able to share knowledge and ensure that the team were delivering consistent test scripts. I believe that this methodical approach will help me to adapt to the way in which this company effectively solve problems and I believe I have the tools and technical ability to do so.

Also whilst at HBOS I was able to meet and beat deadlines due to my commitment by working overtime without pay so that a project could be delivered on time. This commitment and focus enabled us to continue working on other projects and enabling HBOS to meet their business needs on time.
