This project is about implementing a single credit checking external vendor and interface within Virgin Media systems.
Helped write test strategy document, reviewed detailed functional specifications and wrote test scripts.

Virgin Media - UK's leading entertainment and communications company, which provides TV, broadband, phone and mobile services. Due to merging of the three companies namely Telewest Communications, NTL and Virgin Telecoms the Customer Management & Billing system for all three different systems were migrated to the core Telewest ICOMS system. I had been a test lead for Billing – Collections module of the migration. My responsibilities included:
* Help Collections Business Analyst on Collection data migration matters
* Design of Collections test cases – functional, end-to-end and regression
* Design and test Collection Configuration – Schemes, Events, A/R Parameters, Control keys for data migration, various system parameters etc.
* Database set up to enable testing
* Writing of test scripts

Quadriga is the European market leader in provision of technology to the hotel sector. This company delivers interactive digital entertainment and communications system to hotel industries using satellite communication.
Involved in planning, design, execution and reporting of tests.
I was involved in testing ‘Genesis’ the flagship product of this company. This includes links between various application servers, billing systems J D Edwards, Cisco Building Broadband Service Manager (BBSM) etc. Used Segue Silk Plan Pro for planning, documenting and managing the entire testing process, prepare test plan, test scripts, executing tests, fault logging, QA review of project, management reporting. Environment –Windows NT, Linux, UNIX, SQL, DB2, Oracle, XML etc. Internet technologies – HTML, XML, Javascript etc.

I was part of the team responsible for acceptance testing of systems, which were T-Mobile internal and external usage. I had been responsible for testing WAP portal; SMS messaging; ETU –Electronic top–up of Pre-Pay account using EPOS, IVR testing, Introduction of new price plans, Services etc. Some of these applications were on BEA Weblogic server interfacing with billing – AMDOCS/ GENEVA, rating, network provisioning systems etc. Testing BEA Tuxedo-distributed transaction and messaging middleware. Writing test plans; test scripts; testing; reporting bugs; management reporting; maintaining close contacts with developers /department etc. Mostly manual testing but also used automated tools Winrunner, Test director, Facilita etc. Environment Windows NT and Unix. Internet technologies – HTML, XML, Javascript etc. Database Oracle, used SQL, TOAD etc.

This company provides call-processing platforms for telecom service creation & execution environment. This integrates voice, switch and multimedia with web technology. The platforms and services are used by wireline / wireless major telcos for calling card configuration, Call centre operations, e-commerce and banks.
I was involved in testing various products, which included Multimedia services and calling card platforms etc.

At Telewest, the Cable TV and Telephone operator, I was involved in testing on Bytel to ICOMS data migration project. Telewest acquired a number of franchises throughout UK and the converted data had to match the new customer care and billing system used by ICOMS. Experienced in call rating and billing.

-Regression testing for roll out of ICOMS software at various Telewest Sites. This included the analysis and verification of converted data prior to testing.
-Writing and executing test scripts for Telephone Call Rating, Order Entry, Payment & Adjustments, Inventory Plant Maintenance etc.
-Testing for Year 2K compliance of ICOMS software. Used SQL and Query for data validation.
-Fault logging and re-testing of software problems

The company provides Subscriber Management System to various satellite TV broadcasting companies word wide. This is the heart of any pay TV service, providing essential customer interfacing database, administration, billing, and reporting facilities. As a member of the testing team, I was responsible for acceptance testing of application software prior to release to various client sites. Used Oracle, SQL under Unix.

External Planning & Records (EPR) project. This is a GIS system designed to assist in the sophisticated planning, record keeping of access network systems. The system is a regionally distributed graphics system with a background alphanumeric database built in an open systems environment, using proprietary graphics software package Vision. The application is based on Unix system using Oracle7 and Solaris 2.4 (Sun OS 5.4).

Initially I was involved in user specification and later on in testing phases of the project. Involved in project configuration management and writing detailed test scripts for Business Functionality Testing and Acceptance Testing. Produced acceptance criteria for software testing.

As part of the divisional initiative to acquire the ISO 9001 accreditation, managed implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) within the section.

Assistant Engineer, Promoted to Engineer Well Testing, Bangladesh. (Public sector corporation dealing with exploration and production of gas fields). Involved in production testing of gas wells drilled in Bangladesh in association with various services companies. Reservoir engineering.
