Worked as a Programme Manager on a multi-million dollar project called the Group BW Transition Program, the program involved over 100 people from companies such as BP, IBM, Accenture, Wipro and TCS.

The programme consisted of managing

The transition of application support for 8 SAP and 2 Informatica production environments along with the associated test and project environments from the various incumbent project team/support providers to a new IBM team based in Kolkata.

The creation of a new office in Kolkata including technical infrastructure and a secure work area where only vetted personnel could work on highly sensitive systems

A myriad of changes to the associated IT development, business and support people, processes and technology


Work carried out included: Management of the team, development and management of the Rollout Plan, definition of Project Approach; Communication Plan; Stakeholder Management; Programme Budget; Risk and Issue Management;

Jan 2007 – Oct 2007

Worked with Business Project Manager to investigate how Refinery costs could be captured and managed within a new Refinery Maintenance system. This involved mapping the Business Processes, identifying the business requirements and mapping them against the proposed system to see if they could be delivered without further change to the system

Work carried out included: Produced Process Maps for each phase of work to be carried out by Refining Financial Controllers.

Organised and produced a series of workshops in Chicago and Rotterdam for Refining and Marketing Finance, Commercial Management and Maintenance management along with members of the SAP R3 Software delivery team.

Managed progress against plan, provided technical support and produced various types of update to enable stakeholder management and sign-off from the 11 Refinery controllers

Taken on to work as a Technical Project Manager to develop a Business Warehouse solution which took a feed from all of BP’s 160 in-sourced and outsourced accounting centres in a standard format thus enabling BP’s corporate functions such as IT and HR to analyse and understand their global costs.

Work carried out included: Development of Business and Technical Requirements. Managed a project team through full life cycle; system configuration, development (onshore and offshore mix), testing, global implementation and support.

Developed and Managed the Rollout Plan (to Europe, North and South America and Asia), managed the Communication Plan; managed the production of manuals, process guides, manuals and go live packs

Developed and managed the training approach, training courses/training materials. Defined and managed Go-Live and Post Go-Live support under a “bubble” support agreement before transitioning the system to a third-party support provider

Worked on the production of Externally Managed Events with Fitch Live, these events were held in Barcelona, Miami and Singapore and were attended by over 400 people
