Responsible for the timely delivery of projects, to cost and quality whilst paying due regard to H&S requirements.
2005 - 2006 PROJECT ENGINEER, Rotary Equipment Services.
Take initial enquiry from Welsh Water (DCWW) for sewage pumping station refurbishment. Submit recommendations and costings. Upon successful allocation of contract carry out work by use of direct and subcontract labour paying due regard to H&S requirements.
2002 - 2005 CONTRACT CO-ORDINATOR, Rotary Equipment Services.
Responsible for the delivery of the operation and maintenance of 450 pumping stations in Devon on behalf of South West Water (SWW). This involved managing 17 technicians, dealing with all Health and Safety matters, risk assessments, method statements and carrying out accident investigations. Chairman of the Health and Safety Committee.
2001 - 2002 SALES ENGINEER, Mages Group.
Liaising with existing and new customers by promotion of the services offered by the Mages Group of Companies. This included offering engineering advice and solutions, supplying risk assessments, method statements and quotations then following projects through from start to completion to ensure customer satisfaction.
1995 - 2001 SELF EMPOLYED.
Specification, application and sale of repair materials for machinery on Royal Navy ships and the heavy engineering industry throughout Somerset and Devon. In addition I undertook contracts which included repairs to Paxman diesel generators and main engine gearboxes. I gave practical demonstrations and lectures in various types of mechanical repair to Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station, Bridgwater College and Cannington Agricultural College.
1989 - 1995 MECHANICAL PRODUCTION MANAGER, Rosyth Royal Dockyard.
Accountable to the ship manager for the management of the mechanical aspect of refitting surface ships to time, quality, safety and cost. During this time I was involved in the successful refits of 4 Royal Fleet Auxiliary tankers and one Royal Naval Warship. I have also carried out estimating and planning of projects.
1987 - 89 COMMISSIONING ENGINEER, Rosyth Royal Dockyard.
Setting to work ships systems and plant, fault diagnosis, writing test forms, special test instructions, carrying out tests and trials. I was involved with the testing and setting to work of Olympus and Tyne gas turbines, steam plant, hydraulic systems, and ships steering systems and various ancillary equipment.
1979 - 87 CHIEF PETTY OFFICER MARINE ENGINEERING ARTIFICER, Royal Navy.
I was attached to H.M.S. Glamorgan as "Boiler Technician". Prior to this I was in charge of the welding workshop at Gosport Submarine depot.
