Activities: My main duties are to oversee the contractor undertaking the construction and commissioning scope and to confirm that all tasks are undertaken in conformance with the project specifications, safe working practices and to the project schedule. Reviewed and implemented HU/ commissioning procedures. Carried out all duties within the company approved guidelines and policies to ultimately discharge all contractual commitments.

I came on to the project in the final stages of the onshore fabrication period, prior to going offshore to commission the installation. The platform is an extension to an existing installation and as part of my scope I am responsible for the shut down work for the electrical tie in to the existing platform. My duties also include, review and population of the commissioning database (MIP's system), detailed planning of commissioning activities, reviewing commissioning procedures. I am also working hands on in the field trouble shooting to ensure that all the tasks to successfully allow the new platform to go into production are complete to specification and with in the project time scale. The equipment to be commissioned ranges from distribution switchgear including multi function protection relays through to lighting / small power and heat trace circuits, and all equipment between.

Activities: Carried out all aspects of topside process, utility & piping H.U & commissioning. Reviewed and prepared pre and dynamic commissioning procedures. Planned and executed system work packs. Carried out joint client and principal contractor system punch-outs, technical query categorization and remedy on process systems, at all stages of completion to client acceptance. Co-ordinated and supervised work crews of all disciplines during topsides dynamic commissioning activities. Continued offshore to complete commissioning scope and assist in asset start up. In the course of my duties I carry out vendor inspection of packages, including 600 volt switchgear and MCC's at Cutler Hammer, Ardrie, Canada, UPS systems at Staticon Limited and IE Power, Toronto, Canada, emergency diesel generator package, Detroit Diesels, Montreal, Canada and control panels for main generators, Brush Electrical Machines Limited, England.

Activities: Duties & remit, assisting construction to reach mechanical completion, detailing commissioning scope, creating systems index, compiling commissioning dossier and implementing a permit to work system.

This project was for the refurbishment and the addition of a process module for the mobile Arctic caseon rig Molikpaq. My duties were assisting construction to reach mechanical completion, detailing commissioning scope, creating systems index, compiling commissioning dossier and implementing a permit to work system. I lead a team of 10 technicians and was responsible for the day to day running of their operations, which included setting their work tasks, giving technical back-up and assisting in troubleshooting and fault-finding. I also worked hand-on commissioning 4.16 kV 5 megawatt Stewart and Stevenson gas turbine generation package, Powell Electric 4.16 kV switchgear, 600 volt switchgear and MCC's, 5 off diesel generators, UPS systems and drilling systems. This project was undertaken at Daewoo Heavy Industries shipyard, Okpo, Koje Island, South Korea and continued offshore, Sakhalin Island, Russia, where I joined the vessel whilst under tow, as the start-up Electrical Engineer.

May 1995 - January 1998 Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Activities: Planned and co-ordinated work to integrate with other disciplines. The work included assembling job packs, attending FAT's. Carried out construction interface & dynamic commissioning. Completed all necessary certification and hand over documentation. Executed field completion. I was responsible for the utility systems. This included main generation, 2 off 22 megawatt gas turbines, essential power generation 5 off 1.5 megawatt diesels, 3 water injection pumps, 2 off diesel electric fire pump units, main instrument air compressors, 13.8kv switchboards/power transformers 4160 volt switchboards and motor control centers and power transformers.
