Work Experience:

United States Army: 2005 - 2006

Vehicle Mechanic

I am currently working in Germany as a contractor serving the United States Army by maintaining their military equipment.

This involves technical inspections on a variety of vehicles for their mechanical and electrical status and diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical systems faults. Completing bi-annual servicing as and when required, installing modifications to extend the life of the equipment. I am also required to update all relevant paperwork as required.

The vehicles worked on include: HUMMV, 2 1/2ton trucks, 5ton trucks, Forklifts and Trailers.

Saga Insurance Services: 1999 - 2005

User Acceptance Tester.

This role primarily involved front end testing of program developments for the company's computer systems to ensure that the amendments were effective and that no faults have occurred in the system or documents.

I also had to carry out general sanity checks of the systems following software releases and hardware upgrades, writing the Operation briefings to explain the amendments to the business and training the other members of UAT what is involved in testing new releases.

Communicating between various departments and management was an essential part of my daily role to ensure that everyone was kept informed.

I have also attended a software testing course and have qualified for an ISEB certificate in software testing.

I was awarded Employee of the month for January 2003, this award was given for outstanding service to the company.

Superdrug: 1998 - 1999

Assistant manager.

I worked for Superdrug as an Assistant Manager on a development manager scheme. Over this period I had to deal with many different sides of the business such as people management for their personal development, stock replenishment, staff rota's, store presentation and much more.

This was a very pressured job, which required a lot of planning and preparation to ensure that everything ran smoothly and the development scheme was a good base for the skills I use today.

Caffyns Motor Co.: 1995 - 1998

Mechanic

I worked for Caffyns as a mechanic learning the relevant skills required to complete mechanical jobs ranging from servicing a vehicle to rebuilding engine and transmission components.

During my time in this role I worked on Vauxhall, Ford and Renault vehicles and studied at college on a day release basis.

Education:

South Kent College: 1995 - 1997

GNVQ in Mechanics

Brockhill Park School: 1990 - 1995

I gained 7 GCSE's including Maths, Geography, Drama, Science and English (both literature and language).

Skills:

I am confident in using computer programs including Word, and Excel

I rise to the challenge of a specific deadline and push myself to ensure the work is delivered on time and to a high standard.

I always try and go the extra mile and exceed the required level of expectation.
