WORK EXPERIENCE

I. MARSTON THOMPSON & EVERSHED Oct. 1991 to July 2006.

CHIEF ENGINEER/SITE ENGINEER, responsible to Head Brewer / Site Manager April 2003 to July 2006

1.All responsibilities listed for Electrical/Services Engineer below.

2.Full budget control of all capital ,revenue and salary budgets for the engineering functions associated with Burton site.

3.Responsible for the development and costing of the site 5 year plan.

4.Responsible for the installation of 3 refrigerant screw compressors together with the removal and installation of the ex-Mansfield Brewery brewhouse into an existing grade 2 listed building in a £2,100,000 project.

Electrical / Services Engineer, responsible to Chief Engineer Oct 1991 to April 2003.

1. Responsible for all electrical matters on site together with telecommunications and process control,

2. Aided by a staff of 8 electrical personnel to administer a revenue budget of approx. £300,000 p.a. (2003 prices)

3. Responsible for the services on site aided by a staff of 3 utilities engineers and boiler man to maintain 168 hour cover on all services to site, including steam, refrigerant, water electricity and effluent.

4. Responsible for the site security systems including the intruder alarms, CCTV system, fire alarms and the manning of the site by external security staff on a 168 hour basis.

5. Responsible for 2 ground staff who maintain the general site tidyness and tend the sports fields.

6. Responsible for the general, engineering and technical services stores, aided by a stores controller.

7. Acting project manager on capital projects for the brewery responsible for the budget control and programmed completion to agreed time scales. Projects undertaken include bottling 2000, energy monitoring and targeting, automation of the brew house in phases, and the year 2000 rectification works. Later projects included the installation of 3 off 10,000 kg/hr duel fuel steam boilers and associated plant in a £1,000,000 project.

II. BREWERY PROCESS SERVICES FEB. 1990 - OCT. 1991

Electrical Project Manager responsible to the Project Director

Responsible for the technical content, programme and budget control of projects undertaken. Also, liaison with clients and co-ordination of internal departments and subcontractors to ensure satisfactory conclusions to projects undertaken.

III. MAIN SYSTEMS Ltd. JULY 1989 - FEB. 1990

Technical Manager responsible to the Managing Director.

Responsible for the technical and sales operations of the Derby branch of Main Systems, a nation-wide electrical system builder specialising in the design and build of motor control and associated distribution panels.

IV. INTEGRATED ENGINEERING PROJECTS. JULY 1985 - JUNE 1989

Electrical Engineer responsible to the Electrical Director.

Founder member of the company which was a design consultancy, working on projects in the brewing, food and allied industries. Duties included the preparation of detailed estimates, project programmes detail design and implementation of projects with the help of a design team of 4/5 people. Site visits to liase with clients and contractors and to oversee commissioning of plant and control systems.

V. ALLIED BREWERIES ENGINEERING SERVICES JULY 1983 - JULY 1985

Electrical Engineer responsible to the Chief Electrical Engineer.

Responsible for the electrical content of new projects including the Allied tower maltings and the G.I.B.B. project at Burton

VI. SEVERN TRENT WATER JAN. 1981 - JULY 1983

Electrical Engineer responsible to the Principle Engineer

Responsible for the electrical content of new projects, application of microprocessors to water projects and implementation of divisional telemetry policy.

VII. FLETCHER AND STEWART LTD. NOV. 1975 - DEC. 1980

Electrical Engineer responsible to the Chief Electrical Engineer

The company supplied 'turnkey' sugar factories to various areas of the world principally in the cane growing regions. The position entailed design in Derby then commissioning at the factory. I worked in various countries, such as Sudan , Kenya, El Salvador, Somalia, and the Philippines during my stay at this firm.
