ˇ Also, providing Risk analysis and Safety Consultancy to a number of different industries this included: oil; gas; petrochemical and fine chemicals industries.

Gas Safety Advisor

Advising and assisting in the development of a comprehensive Risk Management system within the Generation Business Group for the introduction of the first Natural Gas in Hong Kong. Preparation of the Corporate Safety Case and Safety Plan for submission to the Government.

Responsible for setting up the HAZOP systems and chairing the HAZOPs on all the natural gas and hazardous systems on the Power Station and training CLP staff in the technique.

Managing external consultants who were performing Risk assessments. Providing advice and guidance on the handling of chemicals in normal operation and during the commissioning phases. Management of Environmental aspects and licenses on the construction site and assistance in the preparation and implementation of an Environmental Management System for the Power Station & Construction Site.

October 1994- October 1995 British Gas, Seconded to China Light & Power Co. Ltd.

Gas Safety Advisor on the Construction of the Combined cycle gas fired power station. Responsibilities were as above.

June 1993 - October 1994 British Gas

Principal Engineer (Safety) performing the above mentioned responsibilities relating to power stations, gas facilities and ancillary items

Preparation of HSE Safety Cases for new gas facilities and review of existing Safety Cases.

Preparation and evaluation of Health and Safety sections of Contracts, tenders and bids (for new natural gas power stations). Also technical advisor on Safety to Premier Transco at Ballyumford Power Stations conversion from oil to gas.

January 1992 - June 1993 Cremer & Warner Safety Management Consultants.

Senior Safety Engineer

HAZOP & Consequence analysis of both brown and green field sites for the oil and gas industries in the North Sea. Studies performed included HAZOPs, FMEA, Cullen Forthwith Studies: Fire Risk Analysis, Severe Accident analysis, Escape Evacuation and rescue Study and Smoke and Gas Ingress Study.

The companies worked for include: Penrod, MW Kellogg, Texaco. Oceaneering, Shell/Amec

Process Shift Manager 9 chemical plants with a range of 60 products.

Plant Design and Commissioning - Roles ranging from Start-up team member to Technical Start-up Manager
