EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Aug '02 - Present AMEC Oil and Gas, Aberdeen (Process Engineer)
Dec '04 - Present Project: Talisman Tweedsmuir Project, Detailed Design
I am the system engineer for the Water Injection System, Chemical Injection System, Methanol Injection System and Metering Refurbishment. I am also partly responsible for the Produced Water System, the Sulphate Removal Package and the Condensate Spiking System. I have also been involved in the modifications to the compression and gas sweetening systems. I have been involved in a pipeline depressurization study and KO Drum overpressure protection study both of which were completed satisfactorily. My main responsibilities include: producing datasheets and supporting calculations for equipment (pumps, tanks and vessels), control valves, relief valves, shutdown valves and instrumentation. Other important duties are producing P&IDs (both construct and destruct - responsible for all destruct P&ID modifications), operating philosophies, line lists (including PER requirements) and various operating manuals. New equipment specified include: water / chemical / methanol injection pumps, condensate spike pumps, various meters, analyzers and the produced water degasser. I have been responsible for review various design documents from various vendors (eg. WI pumps, sulphate removal package, gas sweetening package). I was the responsible process engineer for my systems during the project HAZOPs and was responsible for closing out the subsequent actions. During the project I have had a close working relationship with the client and the vendors.
Sept '04 - Nov '04 Project: Marathon Oil Equitorial Guinea
I spent two months located in the Marathon Oil offices as part of the process team allocated to the design and maintenance of the Marathon platforms off the coast of Equitorial Guinea. My role was to aid in the production of P&IDs and HYSYS simulations. I was also responsible for producing datasheets and calculations for such equipment as shell and tube heat exchangers, relief valves, control valves and instrumentation. I was also responsible for updating the platform operations manuals.
Aug '04 - Sept '03 Project: Talisman Tweedsmuir Project, Pre-Engineering
My role as part of the Tweedsmuir pre-engineering team was to carry-out a sour flare study for the Piper B platform incorporating the introduction of the Tweedsmuir production. It was my responsibility to carry out detailed calculations and present my findings in a technical report for the client.
July '04 - Aug '04 Project: BP Federal Engineering Services Contract
I was part of the process team located on the BP Federal Services Contract which is involved in engineering support for the BP Miller, Harding and Bruce platforms. I was responsible for producing various process deliverables such as datasheets and P&IDs. I was also responsible for updating operations manuals. I was given the responsibility for updating the safety registers for the Bruce, Miller and Harding platforms.
Apr '04 - June '04 Project: BP Rhum Onshore Commissioning
I was seconded to the AMEC Construction Yard in Wallsend for three months as part of the BP Rhum Onshore Commissioning Team. I was given the responsibility of maintaining the instruments LOSH (Limit Of System Handover) workpack up to date to reflect which instrumentation had been commissioned. This was carried out under the guidelines set by the BP GOC (Guidance On Certification) procedures. I was also involved in monitoring the progress of the Commissioning Team.
Feb '04 - Apr '04 Project: BP Harding Enhanced Throughput Project (ETP), Detailed Design
I was a member of a detailed design process team for the Harding platform ETP. On this project I prepared calculations and datasheets for such equipment as hydrocyclones, control valves, relief valves, shutdown valves and field instrumentation. I also produced the process line list, the operating philosophy and updated the Harding Operating Manuals. I also assisted in the close-out of the HAZOP actions
Nov '03 - Feb '04 Project: Talisman Tweedsmuir Project, FEED
Tweedsmuir is a subsea development which is to be produced over the Piper 'B' platform. I was a member of a multi-disciplinary team that carried out a front-end engineering design study for this project. I was given responsibility for the updating of the entire project P&IDs, specifying new equipment and checking if existing equipment was fit for purpose. The systems I was given responsibility for were Produced Water, Oil Export, Water Injection and Chemical Injection.
Aug '02 - Nov '03 Project: BP Federal Engineering Services Contract
The BP Federal Contract involved engineering support for the Bruce, Miller and Harding Platforms and the onshore Cruden Bay Terminal. I was part of the process team which provided process engineering design support on a variety of maintenance / modification jobs for all the sites mentioned above. I was responsible for preparing various process deliverables such as datasheets, P&IDs and design calculations. I was also responsible for producing a variety of technical and study reports. These deliverables covered various equipment types such as pumps, relief valves and control valves.
