Project manager for Mc Nicholas Rail Division responsible for the Evergreen and Track Immunisation Projects. I was running Mc Nicholas's two major projects as a project manager / engineer / site supervisor. The Immunisation Project runs from North London to Liverpool over 225 sites. The Evergreen Project is the new island platform 5/ 6 at Marylebone Station in London plus new points heating at the entry to the station. I was responsible for both the engineering and management of both projects as well as all the site installation works.

2005 06/ 2006 03

Project Manager for Carillion Plc responsible for the Larkhall to Milngarve rail extension project and the Stockport Renewals Project. I was responsible for the setting out of the new in house E&P Department. Working on all aspects of the new line renewals in Scotland. From Track side and station installation works through to the hand over of the network back to the client. I was responsible for producing all procedures and process for Carillion E&P Department for the new Network Rail Frameworks agreement.

2004 / 2005 06

Construction Engineer for Atkins Rail. Responsible for BCV stations on the Central line. Organising initial site documentation working with the client and design teams. Formulating comments to designs and implementing site surveys of the existing and proposed new Communication systems. (PA, CCTV, PHP's, Telephones, Station Management Systems and Intruder detection systems). Formulating construction planning, costing and implementing work schedules to co-ordinate with all other affiliates on the project.

Co-ordinating site teams during construction phases, and managing sub-contractors works.

Progress management and reporting to the Project Manager and Project Directors.

Formulating commissioning and handover packages, ITP schedules and O and M manuals.

2003 / 2004. Connect Project. Contract.

Chief Construction Engineer. Responsible for the Network Rail / LUL interface sites on the Connect Project. Working for the client management team. Organising all contractors and sub-contractors in the enabling works packages through out construction. Working with the design team and the client to ensure a satisfactory build package. Planning access and safety staff to meet both the requirements of LUL and Network Rail. Reviewing and writing contractors method statements and seeking approval. Hiring , assessment and development of personnel required through out construction

2003 from 2002 / 09 CTRL contract.

Site manager. Responsible for the M&E contracts on the sub-stations and coms rooms. Overseeing the sub-contractors and the work carried out.

Looking after each individual site and the client's requirements. Preparing all paper work for O&M manuals ready for the hand-over of each site.

2002 / 09 from 2000 / 03 SWT CIS contract.

Site manager. Responsible for the complete installation and commissioning of the new CIS ( Customer Information System ).Also the de-commissioning of the old system and the integration of the new to client requirements. Overseeing the works of sub-contractors and co-ordinating progress and reporting back to project manager.

The approval and preparation of method statements for Railtrack. Responsible for the site safety of contractors and the public during works and all other aspects of HSE.

2000 / 03 from 1999 / 08 GNER CIS contract.

Site manager. Responsible for the CIS renewal at Leeds Station. Managing contractors and work, through all aspects of the contract from method statements, site safety issues, planning progress, and commissioning. Preparing the O&M manuals and all hand-over issues.

1999 / 08 from 1997 / 03 Connex South Central CIS contract.

Site manager. Responsible for the complete CIS re-newel on the Connex network. The integration of the old and new systems working with Railtrack and the client to limit the disruption to the public. Over seeing and managing all contractors and there works. Approving all site safety and possessions through Railtrack and the client and maintaining the progress to meet the required deadlines. Issuing and receiving equipment from the client and organising the distribution of such to the correct contractors and sites. Preparing the documentation for O&M manuals and collating all test certificates. Providing adequate qualified staff and maintaining a motivated approach to the work in progress. Providing up-to date surveys and assessments of each individual site and extra works required, dealing with the contractual implications and providing costing for such works.

1997 / 01 from 1995 / 09 Rugby Cement Refurbishment contract.

Electrical site manager. Responsible for the installation and integration between various contractors on the refurbishment of the site, while maintaining production of the old plant. Dealing with site safety and design issues and overseeing the work in progress. Reporting progress and organising work shut downs when required. I then progressed to commissioning manager as the project came to an end . Organising the full commissioning of the new plant and the integration with the old to maintain production. The maintaining of staffing levels to meet the required deadlines. Fulfilling the required documentation for the O&M manuals and hand-over to client.

Working on behalf of the client dealing with contract issues arising from extra works and pricing agreements.

1995 / 08 from 1993 / 10 Bran Sands Water Treatment Plant contract.

Site commissioning engineer. Responsible for the complete installation and commissioning of all site switchgear from low voltage to HV. Including all HV equipment, DC drives, AC inverters, soft starts, standard motor drives and PLC panels. Modifying all designs where required to meet the clients site needs. Dealing with all contract issues and site safety for the sub-contractor. Providing the complete documentation for all O&M manuals and hand-over to client. Maintaining all staffing levels and progress through-out the contract for the sub-contractor.

1993 / 09 from 1990 / 03 CNC Commissioning / Design Engineer.

Working on various contracts for different companies on the refit and commissioning of large machine tools through-out the world. Dealing with client requirements and modifying standard machines to make specialist machines. Dealing with mechanical and electrical problems and providing cost effective solutions to both. Experience with, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical, and programming issues with CNC and PLC's. Maintaining client relations and providing quality after sales / commissioning services.

1990 / 03 from 1989 / 01 CNC Development Engineer. ( 600 Lathes )

Providing the development through to the mass production of standard and CNC type machinery. Organising production lines and maintaining quality, produced machine tools. Designing and producing prototypes after market surveys and organising all aspects of the mass production of such machines.

1988 / 12 from 1985 / 10 Systems Commissioning Engineer. ( S&I ).

Electrical engineer working on factory acceptance tests and through to actual commissioning on site and hand-over to client. Working on various major projects within the water and petro-chem industries. Commissioning HV and low voltage motor control equipment.
