• Instrumental in designing & introducing safety system for reactor shutdown at a cost of £300k.
• Modified boiler system to utilise a waste stream as fuel in place of natural gas. Annual saving £140k
• Successfully implemented use of electronic planned maintenance & stores inventory control system to eradicate use of paper.
• Incorporated distributed process control (£1.5m) in place of traditional instrumentation to manage the production process more efficiently.
• Installed & commissioned innovative static mixer reactor system to de-bottleneck plant increasing production by more than 45%
• Developed systems for re-use of wastewater stream, reducing effluent disposal costs by £70k/yr & reducing water consumption by over 250m 3.
1991 - 1995
Senior Chemical Technologist
Training to take the responsibility of Works Engineer.
• Designed and installed a water stripping process to reduce residual styrene in finished product by up to 80%.
• Reformulated mixing Zinc Stearate reducing plant breakdowns.
• Started the implementation of the use of Inverters to save energy (50% savings can be achieved)

Responsible for the day to day running of the plant. Duties included all aspects of maintenance and repairs, quality control, assessing plant conditions and taking appropriate action to maintain a quality product. Supervising contractors and booking in both deliveries and despatches.
