Design and installation of ESD valves to main product storage tanks including instrument air compressor package - Shell UK Limited Jarrow.

· Commercial grade changes to loading gantries including storage tank and transfer pump rationalisation - Shell, Buncefield.

· Additional third party bottom loading gantry - Shell, Stanlow.

· Terminal redevelopment including conversion from top to bottom loading of road tankers, terminal automation and product storage tank and transfer pumping rationalisation - Fina/WOSL.

· Replacement of recycle gas pipe work systems for catalyst treatment plant - UOP Limited Enfield.

· Design of a pre-assembled bottom loading road tanker filling facility - Saudi Aramco.

· Front end engineering design for a CHP plant to be installed at Conoco - Powergen.

1985 to 1994 Senior Piping/Stressing Engineer

Stressing Engineer

Stress analysis of both metallic and GRP piping systems to the following design codes:-

ANSI B 31.1; ANSI B 31.3; BS 3351 (Now withdrawn); BS 806

Supervision of a team of up to 3 stressing engineers.

Responsible for the introduction of an in-house stressing facility, using the micro version of PSA 5 mounted on an IBM PC.

Senior Piping Engineer

Responsible for leading teams of engineers and designers on piping design projects for various clients, including the following:

Texaco - Design of additive storage, transfer and injection facilities at various sites.

1977 - 1978 Piping Engineer

Responsible for the production arrangement drawings and manufacturing drawings, located both in-house and on site.

Pressure design calculations including:

Pipe sizing

Wall thickness and branch reinforcement checks etc.

Estimating pipe stressing requirements from configuration and design and operating conditions.

Position: Section Leader

Responsible for the supervision of a team of draughtsmen in the production of arrangement and detail drawings. Compilation of programmes and ensuring man-hours and target dates complied with.

Customer liaison to discuss design both in the UK and abroad.

Welding Engineer

Responsible for the design and development of special purpose welding machines.

Trouble-shooting in production workshops and on construction sites in the UK and abroad.

The training, testing, and procedural qualification of welding personnel, in conjunction with client's and insurance company representatives.
