Working in a 2 man site team, I’m currently employed to install, service and inspect Lifting Equipment at various sites throughout the UK, the work is varied and covers most lifting applications, including Installation of overhead crane systems, swinging jib cranes, lifting beams and gantries, I also service and inspect associated lifting machines, e.g, electric and pneumatic chain hoists, wire rope hoists, hand chain blocks, lever hoists, and inspect loose lifting tackle, e.g, shackles, eyebolts, slings etc.
Responsible for certifying the equipment as safe to use upon completion of installation/servicing, so obviously quality of workmanship is of utmost importance, as are good communication skills for dealing with customers and other contractors etc.
