Principal Engineer responsible for safety and reliability assessment of equipment for use within the Rail, Aviation and Nuclear sectors. Duties include management and submission of safety cases to regulatory bodies within these industries and extensive use of qualitative and quantative analytical techniques including:

- HAZID and HAZOP Studies

- Fault Tree Analysis

- Failure Modes and Effects Analysis

- Event Trees

- Reliability Centred Maintenance

- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Assessment in line with EN 61058 and associated standards.

Additionally responsible for managing clients and winning new and repeat business within these sectors. Personally responsible for winning over £200,000 worth of new and repeat business over the past 24 months.

Electronic Design Engineer

Design and development of high power traction and auxiliary drives for mass transit systems for UK and overseas. Responsible for overall design, equipment specification, type test and initial prototype commissioning. Main achievements included the successful resolution of reliability problems on the Scotrail fleet and the development of a prototype Cyclo-Resonant-Converter for use within the rail application leading to a 50% saving in power and size.
