Position: Supply Chain Manager

I have been employed with Hawker as Supply Chain Manager for just over two years whereby my responsibilities were as follows:

· Purchasing of all raw materials and maintenance parts on a daily basis with an annual spend of approx. £20 million.

· Controlling the stores with a manning level of six in order to supply materials to four different parts of the site and also ensure stock levels are correct. Cycle counts done on a daily basis.

· Value of stock reduced from £900k to £400k within the two years that I have been managing the site. Also introduction of Kanban/Consignment stock where applicable.

· Currently looking at Lineside Kanban from all major suppliers.

· Production planning and control, whereby one Planner reports to myself and we control the whole of the site, which at present has an annual turnover of £45 million.

· Logistics of finished goods are controlled within the department where there is a Transport Manager and Clerk who report to myself.

· Purchasing has a Clerk and a Waste Manager for the site who report to myself with the control of scrap and also the chasing of overdue orders from suppliers.

· Total number of staff reporting to me is 11.

· Ongoing cost savings with 5% cost reduction year on year.

· I report to the General Manager and indirectly to the Group Purchasing Director.

· I have total control of all the logistics of Hawker Energy from the purchasing of all raw materials to the despatching of finished goods from the site to the customer.

· Managed the control of all MRO/Facilities for the Hawker site. This involved control of Company cars, maintenance, Stationery and the set-up of Electricity, Gas and Security contracts on site.

Monitored on a monthly basis the savings gained by using QFD Charts.

August 1996 - November 1997

GULF ALUMINIUM ROLLING MILL COMPANY, BAHRAIN

Position: Senior Planning Officer

Assisting with the computerisation of the Production Planning Department in the following areas: -

· MIMI scheduling system (Manager for Interactive Modelling Interfaces)

· SFDC (Shop-Floor Data Collection)

1. Interim Projects; 2. New Marex Project

· IT Projects, etc

Also additional assignment to effectively increase the productivity in the circles department. This included the following:-

· Check order intake, scheduling and machine balancing to quality issues and yield

· Production methods, die changing along with plant availability and utilisation was measured, monitored and changed if necessary.

· Checking on a daily basis that the plant was being scheduled with the right alloy mix's and the machines were being utilised to there maximum capacity with the minimum amount of roll changes.

August 1994 - August 1996

HAWKER ENERGY PRODUCTS Ltd, NEWPORT

Position: Production Planner / Senior Buyer

Duties included:-

· Planning of aircraft/standby power batteries from the scheduling of lead to shipment to customers. Planning was started by manual schedules then followed by a new MRP system (MFG Pro) which actually incorporated machine downtimes and maintenance. Daily meetings with all production related personnel to discuss previous days actual against targets.

· All components for production and maintenance were purchased and monitored on a daily basis. Store inventory reduced from 7750k to 350k in twelve months and keeping production to actual targets without productions stopping due to material shortage. Liaison with accounts, engineering, production and sales and marketing.

Systems used:- MRP1/MRP2, Lotus 123, MFG Pro, AS400, Word, Excel and Winfax.

October 1991 - May 1994

NACAM CARDAN Ltd, EBBW VALE, GWENT

Position: Production Planner

Duties included:-

· Day-to-day customer schedules inputted into AS400 system in order to generate MRP1/MRP2.

· Daily scrap reports produced and issued to accounts and managing director.

· Production meetings held on a daily basis chaired by myself and one member from each department.

· Production schedule issued to shop floor, giving them the authority to manufacture that particular week's build.

Position: Production Controller

Duties included:-

· Day-to-day liaison with customers, sales, invoicing, organising transport for timed deliveries and also obtaining competitive rate.

· Daily schedules to shop floor in order to achieve customer deliveries.

· Producing daily/weekly/monthly sales figures against forecasts.

Position: Stores Manager

Duties included:-

· Introduced stock control system throughout factory, by using AS400 system.

· Booking in of goods received from suppliers.

· Organising daily dispatches to shop floor with two storemen and one clerk.

· Perpetual cycle counts carried out on two-weekly basis order to maintain stock levels.

· General duties carried out on a daily basis.
