CURRENT PROJECT:

BP Developing Assets, Schiehallion - Subsea Pumping - Topsides

CAREER BACKGROUND

During my 30 years in the oil and gas I have gained a broad experience of large and small engineering and construction projects, as well as knowledge of industry procedures and regulatory requirements. I have fulfilled the roles of senior project engineer, lead piping and mechanical engineer and have hands on experience as a senior designer. I have worked in both client and contractor environments. The experience gained while studying for my MSc at the Robert Gordon University between 1995 and 1998 provided me with a clearer understanding of responsibilities in the modern business world. I have most recently been involved with BP, Talisman, Texaco and Shell operations and project teams.

My current responsibilities involves the preparation of project scopes of work, coordination of multi-discipline teams; managing third party interfaces, responsibilities for project progress, cost and planning reporting to the client, risk management, delivery of construction workpacks, construction coordination and safety performance, while acting as a focal point until close out.

I have been involved in the engineering, construction and operation support of offshore platforms, FPSO's, terminals, drilling facilities, refineries, gas plants and chemical plants. During recent projects I have gained knowledge of the key subsea engineering processes and techniques.

My experience in project management has covered, project cost estimating, vendor package bid evaluation and production operations support. I have participated in formation of tender packages and bid analysis in both the contractor and the client roles. I enjoy the technical challenges requiring both innovative solutions and the fast track implementation required in the current oil industry environment.
