A Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years experience in Engineering, Engineering management and Operational management within a fast changing commercial and regulatory environment.

Skills include man management, the setting and management of capital and operational budgets, fully IT literate, in the use of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Powerproject.

Familiar with a wide range of contract conditions including NEC, ICE, IChemE Red Book and G90.

Trained as Planning Supervisor under CDM Regulations.

▪ Management, co-ordination and administration of major capital projects to the value of £28m from the conceptual stages, through planning, design, procurement, construction, start-up and handover.

▪ The delivery of a variety of water, sewerage, and sewage treatment projects, to time, cost, quality and environmental standards.

▪ Management of multi-disciplined teams including both in-house and external resources.

▪ Key projects include :

▪ Swanage Pollution Prevention Tunnel - 1.5km tunnel under the town of Swanage. Overall project Value £8.4mransfer pipeline.

▪ Swanage WWTW - Membrane Sewage Treatment Works. Overall project value £28.4m.

▪ Aquifer Storage and Recovery - Research and Development project to assess the potential for storage of potable water in the Chalk aquifer at Lytchett Minster, Poole. Project value £0.8m

Operations Group Manager 1995 to 1997

Responsibilities

▪ Operational Waste Water Management of the Bournemouth, Poole conurbation (400,000 resident population). Responsible for the day to day management and training of 17 staff, resource planning, financial control and the operation and maintenance of 10 sewage treatment works, 2,800km of public sewer and 150 pumping stations. Annual operating budget £3.7m.

Area Sewerage Manager 1993 to 1995

Responsibilities

▪ Operational management of sewerage systems with the Dorset Division, including two in-house areas and seven Sewerage Agencies. Responsible for 10 staff, resource planning, the setting of budgets and overall financial control.

▪ The implementing of an organisational and process change programme aimed at delivering improved operational efficiency and customer standards.

Sewerage Planning Engineer 1991 to 1993

Responsibilities

▪ Divisional liaison with Sewerage Agencies. Key tasks were to review technical appraisals, prepare detailed programmes of capital works required to meet company objectives, and to ensure the implementation of company standards and policies within Agency Councils.
