Personal Successes.
As an engineer fresh out of University I pleased to be able to work with the foundry employees to introduce new technology to the foundry in the form of an updated machine and robotics.
By the time I worked in my second foundry position I had enough general experience to take on a team leader role and the successes were in the form of being able to resolve and improve shop floor situations but also to be able to work with the apprentices to make sure they covered the areas required to further their education.
As a Product manager I learnt about products and customers and developed a greater appreciation for different industries and could put my production engineering knowledge to use in being able to help with general application problems.
By the time I decided to go into business on my own I had worked in a range of different industries and had further developed myself to be able to run financial, marketing and engineering aspects of being in business for myself, and for the time the business was running kept myself busy and making money, definitely a success.
As Project Engineer and Production engineer at Alcoa I have been able to successfully manage capital equipment projects, and develop other skills such as quality auditing and a better understanding of health and safety requirements in the work place making it far easier when working with people from other departments as there is a greater understanding of the pressures of their roles in the company.
