Reliability Engineer

· Responsible for the optimum provision of all site services including building maintenance through the selection and subsequent management of specialist external contractors.

- Management of a £250k/annum daily budget and £200k/annum for service contracts.

- Development of comprehensive standard operating procedures.

Leading member of the team, which gained Integrated Pollution Prevention Control (IPPC) accreditation for the Birstall site. Key elements involved positive liaison with the Environment Agency and several projects including drainage surveys, effluent routing and processing and bunded area construction.

Successfully optimised the Bio Filter (effluent, boiler and compressed air systems) with a £35k investment yielding 7% savings and an 18 month payback - a substantial contribution to the organisations' climate control levy (CCL).

· Project management of specialist teams of personnel engaged in all aspects of performance improvement and regulatory compliance.

· Training and coaching of shift process personnel in Multi-skilled operation and first line maintenance.

· Provision of reliability engineering to baking, packaging, cooker extrusion and pharmaceutical operating sections as required.

Through a mixture of performance monitoring planned maintenance and reengineering improved the availability of two key production lines from 85% to 97.5%

Shift Maintenance Engineer

· Provision of Multi-skilled maintenance engineering expertise, including planned preventative maintenance to each operating area.

Member of a four man project team that successfully engineered the negotiation of three individual machines to give a comprehensive form, fill and seal Doy packaging line.
