2003 - Present Manager Paderborn, Germany

Responsible for the programming of servicing and maintenance of a fleet of 20 heavy armoured personnel carriers, as manager of a 12 man team of tradesmen, of varying trade disciplines.

  • Deployed to Iraq on a six month tour where new and diverse equipments had to be learned and maintained to a high standard in extremely arduous conditions.
  • Worked with people of diverse cultures improving communications including civilian liaison.
  • Headed a team who recovered 150 armoured vehicles from Iraq after 12 months in the desert, under tight time restraints, and limited resources.
  • Responsible for all department work rotas, training junior tradesmen and writing of their appraisals.
  • Instructs, supervises and inspects the work of junior tradesmen, controls human resources within time and budgetary constraints, maintains personnel and technical progress.

2000 - 2003 Senior instructor Newcastle, UK

Accountable for an Artillery Battery of Rocket Launchers and heavy support equipment. At the same time responsible for the training of Territorial Army vehicle mechanics and technicians in the vehicle disciplines.

  • Conducts Health and Safety induction training of all new employees.
  • Controls the trade training and career development of 20 tradesmen, of various trade groups.

1996 - 2000 Senior Team Leader Catterick, UK

Whilst based in Catterick carried out 3 operational tours of the former Yugoslavia, carrying out equipment support on every piece of equipment the army had at the time.

  • Liaising with various military units on repair times and quality of repair.
  • Co-ordinating mechanics of various disciplines to carry out repair work.
  • Engaging with locally employed civilians to carry out repair work.
  • Undertook charity work at the weekends to help the local community rebuild itself after a terrible war.
