As Offshore Installation Manager fully responsible for the Installation, Operations, and Health & Safety of the workforce. Role and Responsibilities can be summarised as follows : to be familiar with current offshore Health, Safety & Environment legislation; fully responsible for ensuring the Installations compliance with Legislation, Global Santa Fe policies, Clients policies,
combined operation policies, and classification society rules & regulations; to implement, review, and audit company policies & procedures; Liase with Senior Management, HSE, and Classification

Job Description : Served on the offshore mobile drilling unit 'Britannia' in the Southern North Sea Sector. The rig was under long term contract to Shell Exploration for the drilling of new gas wells/workovers on depleted reservoirs utilising 'Under-balanced-drilling' technology. This method of drilling gas reservoirs was a first in the offshore industry.
As assistant to the Offshore Installation Manager I was involved with all aspects of the rigs operation in the afloat, jacked-up, and drilling mode. Role & responsibilities can be summarised under the following categories :
Managerial : Be familiar with current Offshore Health & Safety Legislation and assist the OIM in ensuring the units compliance, be competent with the companies written policies and procedures ensuring their implementation and participate in revising as required, assist in accident / incident investigations and submitting of reports to relevant bodies. Liase with HSE and Insurance Surveyors as delegated by OIM, Complete all daily and weekly rig reports , maintain records of all Surveys, Certificates, Inspections, Licenses, etc..informing OIM of renewal date. Participate in installation Risk Assessments, carry out audits on contractors equipment and operating procedures.
Marine :Be familiar with the units jacking, piping, and ballasting systems and all structural aspects of the rig to ensure correct loading of the structure, to monitor and report on a daily basis the loading of the unit, e-mail to head office daily loading report, responsible for co-ordinating

necessary preparations & requirements for rig moves, monitor and co-ordinate all supply boat operations ensuring all loading / backloading is completed within safe limits of the units stability, supervise the safe operation of the jacking system during the raising / lowering of the unit.
Maintenance: responsible for the maintenance of 13 272 ton hydraulic jacking system comprising of 4 x 5000 p.s.i. hydraulic power packs, 24 x 553 ton jacking actuators, high pressure piping, directional control valves, and plc control system ; responsible for the maintenance of all installation systems including salt water, firemain, rig air, instrument air, drill water, pot water, ballast, fuel oil, flare cooling , rig deluge; responsible for maintaining the steel structure and ensuring monitoring programme, i.e. tank inspections, wall thickness readings etc.. is adhered to. Job Description : Outside Plant Operator
Responsible for the safe operation of plant and all associated systems and machinery. To carry out routine checks, gas tests, and specification tests of LPG and light gasoline products.Valve routing of rundown products as instructed by control room. To safely isolate, de-pressure, and nitrogen purge systems and equipment. To bring on-line/off-line systems and equipment as required in compliance with company operating procedures.
Experience of operating the following equipment: gas-fired product heaters, endothermic & exothermic reactors, splitter columns, stabilizing columns, high pressure gas/liquid separator, low pressure gas/liquid separator, condensate extraction pots, shell/tube heat exchangers, fin fan coolers, LPG transfer pumps, hydrogen circulation compressor, Hydrogen Sulphide compressors, sour gas Knockout pots, heat recovery steam generators, and all associated basic plant equipment, i.e. pumps, control valves, etc... Fully responsible for the control and adherence of Permit to Work for plant area.
