Responsible for signalling input to GRIP stage 2 feasibility reports for remodelling the rail infrastructure in relation to the proposed expansion of Stansted Airport. Extensive liaison with Permanent Way Engineers.

01/05 to 10/05 : Amey Infrastructure Services, Birmingham:

Senior Signalling Design Engineer : (Contract Position)

Reading Area remedial works: Replacement of SGE type C relays for points control and detection circuits to BR930 series relays. Upgrading of points circuitry to modern standards for the western region..Standardisation of approach locking release circuits and associated trackside wiring and control table alterations.

Directly responsible for three Assistant Design Engineers and all aspects of design office production project timescales, modifications and work package implementation.

Extensive liaison with Installers, Testers and Project Engineers/Managers within Amey and Network Rail.

08/04 to 12/04 : Alstom Transport Information Solutions:

Responsible for the return of As-Built records and project deliverable finalisation for the Norton Bridge Alliance project.

Successful completion of a structured British Rail Signalling Design training programme. Responsible for the preparation and checking of plans, estimates/tenders and technical details associated with railway signalling works. Extensive work with project managers using various computer software and providing technical support as required. Railway signalling design and CAD using Microstation and Gwire applications.

Design work, using Moss software, associated with large civil engineering projects. Initially, I worked for two years in bridge maintenance and structural repairs investigating the corrosion of steel reinforced concrete. Other duties included materials testing and the supervision of two technicians based in a materials laboratory.
