CAREER SYNOPSIS

Project Engineer / Manager with over sixteen years experience of the Oil and Gas Industry encompassing:

Project Management of a range of multi-discipline projects, management of projects from conceptual study through detailed design to installation and commissioning offshore. Projects included Subsea Control System Replacement, Control Systems Upgrade, Flow Metering Systems Replacement / Upgrades, Production / Water Injection Systems / Flowlines.

I have a proven track record in the Oil & Gas Industry and have demonstrated my ability to deliver projects for both the Operator and Engineering Contractor. My career has progressed from Discipline Engineering through to Project Management over the last 16 years.

I am currently contracted to Wood Group as the Project Team Leader for the Total contract with a current portfolio of £30mm of projects. In this role I am supported by 4 Project Engineers and a Design / Construction Team of 80 personnel. I report directly to the Contract Manager in this role.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

August 2005 - Present Wood Group North Sea Ltd

Project Team Lead: In the role of Project Team Leader I manage a project team of approx 80 personnel for the delivery of approx £30mm.annum of projects to Total. My responsibilities are for FEED / SOW development, budget / AFE preparation, KPI delivery and monitoring through to the installation of the projects on Totals assets.

April 2005 - August 2006 Amec Oil & Gas

Britannia E&C Contract Project Manager: In the role of Project Manager I was accountable for completion of Engineering and Construction projects on behalf of Britannia Oil Ltd (BOL). My responsibilities as Project Manager include safe and efficient delivery of projects to BOL, delivery of profit to Amec under the terms of the contract and development of new business within the BOL business unit. The annual contract turnover is circa £15MM/annum.

Nov 2003 - April 2005Halliburton Kellogs Brown & Root

SNS Projects Manager: Following the success of the Joanne Subsea Control System project I was recruited by KBR for a position within the ConocoPhillips Southern North Sea (SNS) ISC. Responsibility within the ISC included management of all SNS Minor Capex and Opex projects for ConocoPhillips. I am accountable for the delivery of £6M of Minor Capex and £5M of Opex projects & £5M of Production Optimisation Projects to the SNS Business Unit.

I was accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of all projects to the SNS business unit, ensuring that the appropriate cost effective solution is delivered within agreed timescales and budget.

Nov 2002 -Nov 2003 ConocoPhillips Petroleum Company UK Ltd

Project Manager: Recruited on a contract basis by ConocoPhillips to project manage the replacement of the Joanne Subsea Controls System. I was responsible for the successful completion of the project within budget and to project timescales. My primary roles included the supervision of internal staff, management of our sub-contractors (FMC Kongsberg & Kellogs Brown & Root). The project was successfully implemented during the Judy platform shutdown in 2003 without any negative impact to safety or platform production. The project was also managed within budget and project timescale.

October 2001 - November 2002 Wood Group Engineering

Project Engineer: Working on the British Gas and Amerada Hess projects, responsible for the supervision of management of the Electrical & Instrument Engineers and Designers on the projects. My role included production of front end studies and cost estimates, engineering of modifications to plant, completion of the quality and peer checking of all E&I work for the project. My project engineer responsibilities for British Gas involved management of a multi-discipline design team to ensure modifications are implemented to time and budget requirements, safely and that the verification and close out of the works are completed.

November 2000 - October 2001 Phillips Petroleum Co Ltd

Commissioning Team Manager: Recruited by Phillips Petroleum to lead the commissioning for the topside modifications on Judy Platform resulting from the Jade platform tie-in. Scope included commissioning of Separation, Telecomms, Risers, ESD, DCS, Fiscal & Allocation Metering System replacement and Field Instrument modifications. The position involved management of a multi-discipline team of Engineers & Technicians to ensure modifications were successfully commissioned within project timescales.

March 1998 - November 2000 Wood Group Engineering

Senior Instrument Engineer: Initially employed within Texaco North Sea office, I was a key member of the Captain Operations Support Team and engineered the front end / study activities which were then implemented by the modification group within Wood Group. After one year I was relocated to Wood Group but retained the same job function which was expanded to carry out Project Engineering. The projects I was responsible for included: metering upgrades to Captain FPSO, Cause & Effect Validation for Captain field, modifications to FPSO Heading Control System and the Turret Bearing Control & Turret Turning & Locking System.

July 1997 - March 1998 Aker Oil and Gas Technology

Senior Instrument / Metering Engineer: Detailed design of metering and Analysis Systems and Instrument Interfaces for Conoco Banff FPSO.

Instrument Engineer responsible for the detailed design of Fiscal Gas Export Metering System, Custody Transfer Oil Metering System (Ultrasonic), Allocation Metering Package and the Water Injection PAU Interfaces.

Jan 1994 - July 1997 AMEC Process and Energy Ltd

Lead Instrument Senior Project / Engineer: As Project Engineer, I worked within the EPIC contract framework and had full technical and financial accountability to ensure that platform modifications were soundly engineered and implemented timely within the financial constraints. Project ranged from a £1,00,000 DCS & Metering Upgrade to £50,000 Nucleonic level Installations.

As Lead Instrument Engineer I managed a team of Engineers and Designers and ensured that each modification implemented was technically sound and met project timescales and performance criteria. Engineering duties included carrying out offshore surveys, producing feasibility studies, specifying materials and Engineering services for projects and producing detailed workpack dossiers for Offshore Construction and Commissioning.

Oct 1990 - Jan 94 Total Oil Marine PLC

Graduate Instrument Engineer: I embarked on an IEE approved Graduate training scheme which covered aspects of design, installation, budgetary control, legislation and Industry standards. The posts held whilst at Total include Commissioning Engineer for the Miller PGRF Plant, Commissioning / Instrument Engineer on North Alwyn for the Dunbar Tie-ins and Facilities Engineer within Aberdeen Facilities Dept responsible for Engineering and Implementation of Modifications.
