Sept 2004 - Present Health, Safety & Occupational Health Consultant

West Technical Consultants

ˇ Working as an independent consultant for various companies on a variety of projects. Projects range from short-term occupational hygiene monitoring, providing risk management expertise, training, to developing management systems.

Sept 2003 - Sept 2004 Health & Safety Manager, Centrica Storage Ltd (Contract)

ˇ Responsible for Health & Safety at the Easington onshore gas terminal and two offshore installations

ˇ Responsible for 4 x Safety Advisors (1 onshore, 3 offshore) and 3 x Offshore Medics

ˇ Reporting to Centrica Group Head of Occupational Health responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Occupational Health Management System. In this role I developed a task based health risk assessment system. This approach has been praised by the Group Head of Occupational Health who is now implementing it across all Centrica Corporate assets.

ˇ Full RGIT UKOOA Offshore Survival and Medical (including Re-Breather Training)

ˇ Baroid Drilling Fluids Technology Course (An internally ran course which provides training on the chemistry and application of Drilling Fluids)

ˇ Chemistry - Aberdeen University, Attended 1 year prior to moving onto Occupational Hygiene course. Completed and passed 4 of the 12 modules required for BSc (Hons) in Chemistry.
