Experience Summary:

Considerable Stress Analysis experience using both Classical Methods

(e.g. hand calculations) and Finite Element Methods (e.g. NASTRAN, PATRAN,

ABAQUS, MARC, ANSYS, SC03) in linear, nonlinear, static, dynamic, aeroelastic

and thermo-mechanical stress analyses.

Experience in stressing both metallic and non-metallic (e.g. composite) materials.

Experience in creep life estimation and in fatigue life estimation using both, the S-N

curves 'safe-life' approach and the fracture mechanics 'damage-tolerance' approach.

Experience in operating systems such as UNIX, Linux, Windows and in programming

(e.g. Fortran). Currently developing own Finite Element package.

Employment History in reverse order (most recent employment first):

Apr2005 - Present : Contract Stress Engineer, GKN Aerospace Services,

Isle of Wight, UK. Linear and nonlinear finite element analyses of composite

aero-engine and metallic airframe structures (e.g. A400M) using NASTRAN,

PATRAN and MARC.

software for Personal Computers for Windows or Linux as Operating Systems.

Apr2001-Mar2002: Contract Stress Engineer, Alstom Power Industrial Gas Turbines,

Lincoln, UK. Nonlinear (e.g. creep) finite element stress analyses using ABAQUS,

PATRAN, ANSYS and programming in Fortran.

Sep2000-Mar2001: Contract Stress Engineer, Astrium GmbH, Bremen, Germany.

NASTRAN, PATRAN and programming in Fortran.

May1999-Aug 2000 : Contract Stress Engineer , GKN Westland Aerospace Ltd., Isle

of Wight, UK. Finite element analyses of composite helicopter structures (e.g. EH101

Airframe) using NASTRAN , PATRAN (Hoffman failure criterion). Programming

in Fortran, hand calculations and use of Mathcad and of Microsoft office programs.
