Mechanical Engineer Design & Build Engineering Company Degremont Ltd

Design Mechanical Engineer for projects handled by Galliford-Costain Joint venture with United Utilities under EU funded AMP3 program for the water industry. Also acted as Project Engineer.

Worked on both waste water projects as well as clean water project. However most experience was on the wastewater side.

As Mechanical Engineer was involved in elements of design based on Client requirements, detailed equipment layout.

Preparation of specialist sub-contractors procurement packages based on Client standard specifications. Defining Sub-Contractors deliverables. Analysis and selection of successful bidders for sub-contract packages. Verification and approval of sub-contractors' designs, calculations and drawings. Coordinating the submission of designs, calculations and drawings to Client for final approvals. Monitor the timely deliveries to budget and project schedule and specifications. These included witness testing of suppliers' equipment.

Project Engineer's role additionally carried the responsibility for the M&E engineering delivery of design and procurement to labour and equipment cost budgets. Project change managements and impact and routine updating of project schedule and budget. This involved the supervision / co-ordination of Electrical Engineer for output and labour input.

Also involved regular reporting to Project Manager, Client facing and attendance at Project Meetings & Site Meetings as required.

Project Engineer responsible to assist in preparing and coordinating a comprehensive pre-feasibility study for the design and construction of a new Alumina Refinery Plant. Prepared capital cost estimate and assisted in making presentations to Client. Also participated in a technical mini-audit of an existing alumina refinery plant in West Africa.
