Ford Motor Co. working through ARRK on FAP B226 Fusion Program. Component Engineer in Body, responsible for Design and Development on Interior Trim, Exterior Trim, and BIW for unique market requirements. Components include Headliners, Carpets, Insulators, Plastic Trims, Vehicle Sheet Metal, Bumpers, Wiper & Washer Systems.

Working within Ford PMT, daily communication with Suppliers & FAP engineering locations on Engineering & Build Issues, Concerns, DV & PV testing, Engineering Specifications, DFMEA's. Visiting & reviewing Suppliers on site throughout India. Issuing of SoW's and TA's to Suppliers.

Vehicle build support from CP through to Job1+90 onsite in India. Knowledge and regular use of Ford systems including Wers, eFDVS, PDV, AIMS, C3P, TestNet, eRoom, etc.

Sept '98 - May '03

(Invited and) Joined Magna Intier as permanent staff member following contract period.

Experienced gained with Intier on product design and development in door closures, door modules, latching systems, door hardware, BIW and associated componentry. Fully WERS and IDEA's C3P trained.

Initial company role was for Customers first point of contact with Door Closures and Latching systems on new and current products. Customers include Ford, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Bentley, McLaren Cars and Mazda.

Moved to Lead Design Engineer for Ford BCar program on Latch and Mini Module system, with 5 months on-site prototype build support. Daily working with customer CFT, and resolution of quality and engineering issues within time and cost constrained environment. Responsible to write and maintain engineering documents DFMEA's, DVP&R's, Engineering Specifications, 8D's etc.

Moved on to Ford Transit program, supporting all engineering activities on site in Italy. Co-ordinating DV & PV test phase. Quality and TIR resolution. Responsible to write and maintain all engineering documentation (Engineering Specifications, DFMEA's, DVP&R's) to required customer standard.

Sept. '96 - Sept '98

With Hawtal Whiting. Project Engineer at Magna, Intier. Direct liaise with customers on vehicle closures, latching systems and door hardware.

Oct. '95 - Sept. '96

With Hawtal Whiting. Design work on Ford 98DE1 Scorpio. Taking initial scans to first sight prototype and further to released drawings. Components included bumpers, rocker panels, handles, rear seating and grille, along with all associated BIW .

May '95 - Oct. '95

With Hawtal Whiting. Contracted off site to support Ford engineers with launch of BE91 vehicle at Dagenham Plant. Liaise with engineers to resolve build issues on Pre-production vehicles. Mainly BIW, with some interior & exterior trim, sound deadening.

Jan '95 - May '95

Joined Hawtal Whiting at Phoenix House, Basildon, as a CAD designer on the PDGS system. Drawing and design changes on several Ford programs as requested by engineers, involving BIW, trim and insulation components.

Degree Course (Final year) and Casual Work.

Sept. '93 - Jan '94

Stayed in Germany and attended lectures at Fachschule Hamburg, as part of my degree course. Trained mainly in vehicle design and PDGS CAD system, also included vehicle electronics, German language and engine testing.

Aug. '92 - Sept. '93

Joined The Torrington Co. for my industrial placement as part of my Degree course. Employed as part of a design team, designing steering columns from initial concept through to final design. Gained experience in CADDS 4X, Finite Element Analysis, testing, prototype building, quality, purchase, shipping and manufacturing engineering.
