Feed Plant, Test Specification documentation, utilizing Siemens Moore DCS (APACS) automated control

system and APMS (RTAP SCADA/Database) system at Aberthaw Power station, Unit 7 project, Aberthaw,

South Wales; with a team of Engineers liaising with RWE nPower staff.

Main Project Undertook and Duties involved for Aberthaw Power Station Unit 7:

I was responsible for PLC software design for Plant Refit and optimisation project for client Samtel.

The upgrade and speedup of mechanical handling systems Line 5 TV Panel Mask Assembly Plant, using Mitsubishi GX Developer software. This involved interpreting Japanese Documents and uncommented PLC software and modifying and adding new PLC code to eight main plant areas; utilising Mitsubishi A3A, A3N and FX1N PLCS.

I was also responsible for PLC software design for Nuclear Handling systems project for client UKAEA - Mobile Flask Controller. This included writing FDS, Test Specification Documents Draft Engineering drawings in AutoCAD, PLC software design and testing PLC code using Allen Bradley SLC 504 PLC.

ICV Delta V Batch Specialist - MCS Operations Shift Support Engineer. (Contract).

The Wyeth Bio-Pharma Batch Pharmaceutical (Dublin ) Project is the largest Bio-Pharma Plant in Europe

which will Produce Arthritis treatment drug.

Working as Manufacturing Control System (MCS) Operations Support Engineer on Day and Night Shifts

For the Drug Substance Building Cell Culture - Harvest Process Cell area operation team for Integrated

Commissioning and Validation (ICV) activities. My duties included Delta V DCS system Support

Engineering for Drug Substance Plant Operations Personnel and Engineering Operations Personnel

Providing technical support on Delta V DCS system to ensure correct operation of the plant. Troubleshoot

Software problems in the batch process as part of a multidiscipline commissioning team in the field during

Operational Test Script execution and Batch Cycle Development and providing Operations support

during Development and Exhibit batches.

My role consisted of On site fault finding, commissioning from control module level to Phase SAT execution

testing, Operations Testing and Unit Procedures Testing of the control System and system verification.

Project / Control Engineer. (Contract).

I was responsible for initial design scope for Gamma Monitoring system using 10 Gamma Radiation Monitors / Detectors to be located throughout the BNFL Springfield plant. Each Gamma monitor detectors were connected to industrial PC which were routed via Optical fibre and connected via Ethernet to main central data collection PC.

This involved considerable liaison with the client and site surveys in order to minimize any impact on

Ongoing plant operations; such as to identify existing and new cable routes also existing and new Ethernet

hubs for monitoring system. Liaising with client & vendors to in-order to scope for appropriate items.

As a result of my involvement in this project I also gained knowledge of generating method statements for

various construction tasks.

Wyeth Bio-Pharmaceutical Project, at Emerson Process Management Office, Leicester

Systems Engineer. (Contract).

The Process Control System for the Wyeth Bio-Pharma Batch Pharmaceutical Project was implemented

Using the S88.01 model and followed the GAMP3 project life-cycle approach to cGMP. The PCS comprised

More than 5000 I/O DCS utilising Delta-V controllers, I-fix SCADA system, Delta V Batch Manager and

MS SQL server incorporating the InSQL Historian.

Team member of Delta-V DCS Testing / Writing / Witnessing team for the Wyeth Project. Duties included

Writing numerous FDS and SFAT Test Protocol Documents for Control Modules, Equipment Modules And

Creating test documents for Environment and Security of the test system (11 test systems); Witnessing the

FAT testing of software such as Standard Object Library Code testing, Control Modules, Graphics, Interlocks,

Equipment module testing, with the sub-contractor / client for theDrug Substance and Drug Product part of

Bio-Pharma plant . As a Delta V Tester; Tested several Non CIP Phase Modules with Wyeth personnel which

involved using SFAT test documents and using formal recording procedures for Fault / comment; Liaising

with Emerson Delta V Software Engineers and Wyeth client at all stages of project.

Hatfield Moors Gas Storage Upgrade Project - Project / Systems Engineer. (Contract).

My main duty was to design the control system for the upgrade of gas storage plant for the Client Simon

Calves on behalf of Scottish Power.

The Process Control System for this fast-track project was implemented using the DCS system utilising

Yokogawa Prosafe PLCs Quadlog-ACM APACS controllers (dual redundant system) using 4mation

software (IEC61131-3 standard) and Fix (7.0) SCADA dual server redundant system. I was responsible for

writing Detailed Design Specification, configuring DCS software (4mation) code, Liaising with client, end

user and sub contractor throughout the lifecycle of the project, setting up test system for Pre Fat testing and FAT testing of software both internally and with the client for FAT testing.

03/2002 - 08/2002 Instem - BNFL Sellafield site, Cumbria.

Nuclear Installations Inspectorate Software Modification Project -

Magnox and Services Implementation Team - Control Systems Engineer. (Contract).

The objective of the project was to baseline all control systems in accordance with guidelines of

IEC 61508 - Functional Safety of Electrical / Electronic / Programmable Electronic Systems

Safety Related systems.

I was part of team involved with collating evidence for BNFL, Sellafield Site. I was responsible for

Magnox plant -Fuel Handling Plant (Pond 5) and SIXEP area, which consisted of 81 Programmable

Electronic Systems (PES), such as Instematic 280, Modicon 684 PLC, to Siemens S5 95 PLC.

My duties included Liaising with PES Managers / Engineers, documenting forms and procedures

using the guidelines IEC 61508. Adding / modifying Sellafield PES register (SPESR) using System

Data Change Request (SDCR) forms. Modifying Boundary Diagrams, Documenting all Configuration

Management Plans (CMP) forms 1 to 5 consisting of General Index, Hardware / software /

documentation configuration, documentation cross reference forms for all 81 systems. Also

Modifying Plant Modification Proposal forms (PMP) for the systems.

I have attended numerous Nuclear Installations Inspectorate safety related training courses

03/2001 - 02/2002 Siemens Moore Process Automation.

Control Systems Engineer. Engineering Department. (Contract).

Team member of ProcessSuite DCS configuration team for Rhodia Chirex Batch Pharmaceutical

plant. The Process Control System for this fast-track project was implemented using the S88.01

model and followed the GAMP3 project life-cycle approach to cGMP. The PCS comprised 1400 I/O

DCS utilising APACS controllers, InTouch SCADA, InBatch Batch Manager and MS SQL server

incorporating the InSQL Historian. Duties included Pre Fat testing and FAT testing of software both

internally and with the client. I was responsible for configuring / setting up and maintaining three

test systems comprising Batch server, redundant Tag Servers, Historian Server, and several Operator

client stations on a dual Ethernet system. I was also responsible for batch product recipe BEM

configuration in the Batch Server including batch model configuration, generic recipe operations

configuration of ISA S.88 compliant batch control systems, review of recipe Specification and liaising with

customer to document recipe specification changes / clarifications. I also configured and FAT tested the 5

BEM recipes and modified BEM recipes at Holmes Chappel, Rhodia Orion Site. I developed and FAT

Tested Custom reports using Crystal Reports 5.0 professional and MS SQL.

I have also configured several recipes for Astra Zeneca E5 project and set up / configured

systems such as tag servers and client stations for E6 Astra Zeneca project. I have some

knowledge of 21CFR part 11 regulations.

for Emergency Shutdown Desk (ESD) using Triconex triple redundant system utilising Trusted IEC1131

Toolset software for client TotalFinaElf - Alwyn North project. My other duties included F.A.T. testing with

the client; the ESD system and also Process Control System (PCS); which utilises Fisher-Rosemount

Delta-V DCS System (Ver 5.5).

06/2000 - 10/2000 Siemens Moore Process Automation,

System Commissioning Engineer at Longannet Power station, Scotland (Contract).

My main duty was commissioning Siemens Moore DCS automated control system utilizing

APACS (DCS) and FIX (SCADA) system at Scottish Power, Longannet Power station, Unit 3

LOMIS project, Kincardine, Scotland; with a team of engineers on a shift system (day shifts)

liaising with Scottish Power operator staff. My Commissioning duties included trouble shooting, fault

finding, System Tuning and optimisation, System performance evaluation.

02/2000 - 06/2000 Biwater Treatment Limited,ICACommissioning Engineer at Liverpool WWTW, (Contract).

My main duties was commissioning at Liverpool WWTW (Sandon Dock) for Client North West Water

authority.

My duties included commissioning PLC software and panel view code for Flow Splitting Pumping Station,

Sludge Thickening Plant and Telemetry Station using Allen Bradley SLC504 PLCs networked via fibre optic

link and Local Operator Panels (Panel View 900) using Bechtel standard PLC code structure. Liaising with

Client at all levels, training plant operators.

The Commissioning involved trouble shooting, fault finding, design modification, System tuning and

4) Data Entry Logging System - Designed using Ms Access and Visual Basic.

04/1997 - 04/1999 Biwater Treatment Limited,I.C.A. Systems Engineer. I.C.A. Department. (Contract).

I have undertaken various projects mainly for Water authorities such as Anglian Water, Yorkshire

Water Authority. In each project my duties included producing software design for SCADA Systems

(standalone system or networked system), in-house testing, on - site commissioning, and operator training for

the configured SCADA systems. The SCADA systems software used varied from FIX 32 NT (6.15), Paragon

TNT (3.31) to Intouch (7.0) Factory suite 2000 SCADA software. I have also undertook Year 2000 tests for

the configured SCADA systems.

1) Knapp Mill WTW - Christchurch - Site Modification on Networked SCADAs (Intouch 7.0).

(Thames Water Authority and Welsh Water Authority). In each project my duties included

producing a functional design specification from clients contract specification, software design,

installing PLC software, operator interface configuration and the production of an Operations

and Maintenance manual for the completed project. I was involved with full functional testing

including panel shop tests with the client and finally a thorough site commissioning of the PLC

software. I also configured and fully commissioned complete SCADA systems using FIX DMAC

for Windows and Paragon 550 SCADA software for several sewage treatment works.

Calculation / Sizing. I also configured part of plant mimics on Bristol Babcock DCS system for Thames

Water Plant.
