Presently holding the position of Quantity Surveying Manager (Scotland), for a major UK Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering company. I am self-motivated and able to work on my own initiative or as part of a team, with excellent communication skills. Having previously gained a wide level of experience within the commercial E & I sector of the construction industry, I most recently specialised in the Industrial, Oil/Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical divisions. During my career I have developed an in-depth commercial understanding, via a proven track record, in both Quantity Surveying and Estimating disciplines.

Quantity Surveying Manager

Grangemouth

Accountable to the Managing Director for the measurement, valuation and financial control of all Electrical and Instrumentation contracts within the Scottish region. Responsible for the commercial management of active projects operating from the Grangemouth Area Office, havingan annual turnover of around £18 million. Also heavily involved in preparation and submission of estimates and compilation of labour rates for final calculation of all quotations. Specific recent contracts include;
- BP, Grangemouth Master Services Agreement, term contract: £3 Million.
- INEOS Grangemouth Term maintenance contract: £750 Thousand.
- BAE (BVT) Ship 2 Type 45 Destroyer: £13 Million
- Interserve Industrial Services - Micro projects: £ thousand.
- Various shutdown maintenance projects and Lump sum fixed price contracts for AMEC, Mitsui - Babcock, Jacobs Enginerring and BP direct in Grangemouth.
- Various small works projects for Transco, BOC Gasses, Scottish Water, Clark Eriksson and others.

1992 - 2003 Quantity Surveyor
Measurement valuation and financial control of Electrical and Instrumentation projects including: B.P. Oil Grangemouth, projects at Dalmeny and Kinneil, Roche Products, Dalry; Ross Chemicals, Grangemouth; Rohm and Hass Grangemouth; Zeneca, Grangemouth, term contract, AZ2 Construction project, FFP construction project; AHS Emstar CHP plant.

Murdo MacLeod Associates, Edinburgh

Responsible to partner. Duties included design of electrical services and other associated systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, telephones and computers. Production of specifications, Bills of Quantities and Layout Drawings. Co-ordination and Site Supervision of Mechanical and Electrical Installations. Liason with supply authorities; Scottish Power, British Telecom, British Gas, to arrange main supplis. Compilation of Budget Costs, pricing to Architects' Instructions and agreement of Interim applications for payment.

Responsible to Associate Electrical Engineer. Assisted in planning and design of Electrical Services, including liason with client / architect, production of specifications, bills of quantities and working drawings. Monitoring of installation works through to final testing and commissioning of the completed electrical installation.
