Goal2.

As knowledge manager, I was involved in many projects and activities that glued people, processes and technology together. Enabling communities of practice, developing dedicated human networks and nurturing innovation were vital pieces in underpinning easyJet’s vibrant internal culture and brand. Working with organisational development, HR and IT teams, my job was to make sure that our information and knowledge management capacity maintained our competitive business advantage.

My responsibilities included:
- Developing a knowledge management strategy
- Project managing the replacement of an existing document management system with LiveLink from Open Text
- Budget control
- Creating project plans
- Risk / project threat management
- Third-party supplier management
- Devising a functional specification
- Creating a project initiation document
- Reporting to the management board
- Creating a new information architecture
- Devising and implementing a migration strategy
- Devising and implementing a communications strategy
- Devising and implementing a training plan
- Identifying retention schedules and document policies.

I was responsible for the management and development of easyJet’s internal Intranet, http://inside.easyjet.com. The site helped to underpin easyJet’s cultural values through the use of web technology, establishing lines of interactive communication with a rapidly expanding European workforce. Reporting to the People Director, the Intranet facilitated enterprise wide communication and most importantly conscious, interactive participation from easyJet’s European-wide workforce.

My responsibilities included:
- Gathering organisational requirements
- Creating a functional specification
- Designing the user interface
- Project managing the creation process
- Setting Budgets
- Managing project plans
- Editing and creating content
- Application design and specification
- Promoting the intranet throughout the business
- Rolling the intranet out to Europe
- Designing and implementing a training plan
- E-Learning procurement
- Coding in HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript.

I was responsible for providing first line support to customers using easyJet’s website to book flights. This involved communication by telephone and email support, call logging and information request resolution. I was also part of the crisis management support team, involved in crisis and effective on-going business management.
