I am an achievement-oriented, highly educated and adaptable Interim Manager with Business Change Programme Management and BPR experience and deep expertise in several sectors, including Telecoms, Internet, Engineering, Utilities, Media and Central Government. Strong analytical and strategic skills complement a proven track record of managing change and dramatically improving operational performance, by working with people and leading teams. I am a PRINCE2 and MSP Registered Practitioner, an MBA (London Business School) and an Engineer (Oxbridge), with current SC security clearance to August 2018. • Ministry of Defence – Deputy Programme Manager – [2008] – Currently managing 17 business improvement projects, within a major business change programme.
• Department of Work & Pensions – Deputy Programme Manager – [2008] – Provided project management support on a major pensions programme; leading a project comprised of 60 Policy staff and also providing strategic assistance to the programme director, including setting up the programme management office (PMO).
• BT plc. – Senior Business Programme Consultant – [2007] - Reviewed the performance and profitability of a major public sector network outsourcing programme within BT Global Services. Developed recommendations for improvement initiatives with benefits of £10m, mostly through improving the effectiveness of the PMO, particularly its mission, scope and reporting outputs.
• Home Office – Project Manager – [2006] - Provided Project Management services on a £500m national security systems programme. Cyclamen was a joint Home Office/HM Revenue & Customs programme for the introduction of detection systems at ports for smuggled radiological and nuclear material. Led the infrastructure and equipment installation at 6 ports [90 staff], which involved senior level stakeholder management and trial management.
• Environment Agency – Business Change Programme Manager – [2005] - Led 4 project managers and accelerated a change programme with forecast benefits of £2m. Assignment extended to lead a project to review and improve the project and programme management capability and also analysed the effectiveness of the major external spend on consultants.
• Centrica plc. – Process & Change Manager – [2005] - Programme managed the establishment of a new Design Authority, achieving seamless knowledge transfer from Accenture to Centrica IT and business staff on a £400M business-critical IT programme.
• Department of Work & Pensions - Portfolio Management Consultant [2004] -Worked on the largest IT Transformation programme in Europe [c.£2bn a year] as part of a Cap Gemini Consulting led team; developed the Portfolio Management business processes and tools for DWP’s IT department transition to a World Class function. Worked closely with The Pension Service to further customise the processes for their specific needs.
• T-Mobile UK – Process Consultant – [2004] - Led 4 process improvement projects, focusing on Regulatory, Wholesale Products, Billing and Corporate Governance issues. Developed business process flows and documented them in ARIS.
• Scottish Water – Programme Manager – [2003] - Programme managed for the COO the launch of Scottish Water Solutions, an innovative 500 employee joint venture project delivery organisation between Scottish Water and 7 English Water companies and consultancy/ contractor suppliers. Ensured that the management team had full visibility of the launch programme’s progress, risks and issues.
• United Utilities plc. – Business Consultant – [2003] - Coached a general manager and his programme office team, to develop their tools and processes, to gain control over a £200m capital investment programme. Moved the team from merely reporting progress to actively influencing and managing the 20 project managers.

• Developed and implemented the Network Cost Optimisation business process
• Drove the definition and agreement of the key roles, interfaces, processes and Service Level Agreements [SLAs] between all the Network functions (which had been reorganised), to provide clarity and to promote efficient network development.
2000 - 2001 Senior Programme Manager - Network Synergy, Europe
Drove a programme of cross-functional projects across Europe, designed to improve the cost-effectiveness of the combined WorldCom and UUNET networks.
• Drove through cost savings in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic worth over £8m.
