I am ideally looking for a contracting position either doing systems/web development/programming in PHP, Perl, Javascript, HTML, XML, CSS using MySQL or PostgreSQL databases – or doing system administration on Linux/BSD web server system systems (I have experience of Apache, cPanel, Ensim, BIND – although I do also have some experience of Microsoft IIS, Plesk, Solaris and Mac OS systems). I feel I am a good problem solver with a wide range and knowledge of IT and can rise to meet any challenge.

June 2008 to September 2008
I helped ensure clients websites were multi-browser compatible, were Priority 3 accessible and fully validated to XHTML Strict levels, along with adding additional functionality using PHP, ASP, Javascript, HTML and CSS.
I worked on large brand name education websites (a major building society and car manufacturer) along with organisation and educational theme sites in varying degrees (practically creating the the Education site anew to building an ASP content management system for the car manufacturer's Educational site to just adding minor functionality to others).

August 2007 to June 2008
Working on this Industrial Tool distributor's Perl based Interchange website , I added Javascript based “enlarge images” functionality, Google Maps interaction, additional images and document availability (this involved creating a Bash script to pull data across a firewall and interaction with a PostgreSQL database). I also enhanced their Python/PHP based Marketing software suite to add additional fields. Working in a variety of programming languages (PHP, Python, Perl, SAX Basic, C#) using PostgreSQL and MS SQL servers, I developed a number of web backend systems for commercial reporting (extracting from both database systems and remote websites), maintained a variety of applications written in those languages, developed an IT issue tracking system, resolved issues with Linux and Windows servers, wrote SAX Basic macros for Intelliterm to interact with the Cobol business system and maintained two eCommerce systems (Perl based Interchange and JSP/ASP based Lawson eSales).
