Introduction

I currently work for an SME manufacturing and building truck mounted cement mixers. Work includes developing strategy to meet an ever increasing customer demand and working with workshop personnel using production techniques to achieve that goal. I generate all drawings for assemblies and customer drawings. I am the health and safety and quality representative for the company. In addition to these roles I am responsible for the production planning of components, the design, CADCAM and quality control of components within the factory.

Production Engineer/Business Improvement Engineer

· Managing staff and scheduling the daily production needs of the factory including liaising with all of the facility departments and management.

· A Service and repairs network of 300 lorries is in my control. As well as selling and managing preventive maintenance contracts I am also in control of a nation wide service team.

· Adapting Lean concepts to be able to improve business performance to achieve output targets. This includes managing Bills of Materials, raw stock control, scheduling, nesting of machinery and outsourcing products.

· Manager of all customer and supplier driven projects including designing products and creation of all specifications of new products.

· Quality representative responsible for internal audits and achieving quality goals.

· Health and Safety representative, managing risk assessments, method statements, training and COSHH analysis to ensure safety throughout the factory.

· I also identify and audit training needs of staff and monitor production tasks.
