RECENT ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE

Combat Support Equipment (CSE) Project Team - As a qualified Post Design Services Officer (PDSO) I maintained liaison between Defence Project Teams, Qinetiq, DSTL, SERCO, Smiths detection Ltd, Rheimetal Ltd, Marshall's Ltd, G3 Sys Ltd, Anteon Ltd and Lockheed INSYS Ltd on matters of in-service equipment. Additionally, I proactively reviewed in-service support to a wide range of equipment in order to ensure that the optimum support solution was achieved that balanced value for money and performance.

Battlefield Infrastructure (BFI) Project Team - As a PRINCE2 Project Manager I developed the in-service support for key Battlefield Infra-structure projects worth £20M, which include Operational Hygiene System - Laundry Transportable (OHS LT), Personal Shower Portable (PSP) and Water Distribution Rack (WDR). Each of these projects was managed from conception through initial gate, main gate, tender selection, design, delivery and finally in-service.

Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Project Team - As In-service Support Team Leader I prepared the Defence Logistic Organisation (DLO) Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) team based in Andover for transition and merger to Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) in Bristol in order to achieve Through Life Capability Management (TLCM) under the new organisational title of Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S). The project portfolio consisted of over 24 individual capabilities at various stages of the project life cycle. The accumulative in-service resource budget for these projects was forecast at £43.21M for the financial year 07/08.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

To develop the level of education within 4 Division affiliated units.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF DUTIES

  • To lead on the delivery of Command, Leadership and Management (CLM) to Junior and Senior soldiers and Warrant Officers.
  • Deliver Educational and Developmental advice for all Defence personnel and Defence community within the UK Central Area of Responsibility (AOR).
  • Actively market the Educational Centre in order to achieve educational targets and improve operational effectiveness of individuals, units and ultimately the Force as a whole.
  • To liaise with Divisional and Directorate Headquarters on matters of emerging Educational policy in order to develop a strategic and operational delivery of training.

2004 - 2007: Integrated Logistic Support Manager (ILSM), Defence Logistic Organisation.

· Develop Support Solutions for future and in-service equipment, managed by Combat Support Equipment Integrated Project Team (CSE IPT). Capture all Logistic Support information in Logistic Support Plans (LSP), Through Life Management Plans (TLMP) and Safety Management Plans (SMP).

· Ensure that Safety is not compromised on CSE IPT equipment by means of effective safety management. To provide a wider Technical Support role for other DPA/DLO IPTs, Front Line Commands (FLC) and Military Units.
