KEY DATA

Chris Goodman is a focused, flexible and trustworthy team player who is self-motivated and personable and who is an effective communicator at all levels of an organization.

Chris has the drive and motivation to respond rapidly and effectively to operational situations, to meet project deadlines and prioritise the demands of numerous deliverables.

He has often worked closely with Health and Safety Specialists, Process and Project Engineers and Senior Management and has an appreciation of wider HSE, Engineering, Planning and Asset Management issues.

Chris has experience of working in a number of different roles:

Operational support

A significant proportion of Chris's work has been providing day to day environmental support to a number of sites including around 15 manned oil and gas installations, associated unmanned tiebacks and onshore sites.

Project support

With BP, Shell & AMEC, Chris has also supported projects of all sizes. These have included new offshore developments, engineering modifications, drilling, pipeline and decommissioning operations.

Client support

Chris supported AMEC's Integrated Services Contract (ISC) with Shell providing engineering, modification and maintenance support to 3 manned gas installations, 15 associated unmanned platforms and the Bacton gas terminal.

During this work Chris has been responsible for:

ˇ Providing day to day environmental support to Asset management and offshore oil and gas installations

ˇ Assuring all aspects of environmental compliance for offshore oil and gas installations and projects

ˇ Coordinating delivery of permits and implementation of processes and procedures and providing appropriate training to ensure compliance

ˇ Liaising with regulatory authorities on specific compliance issues (new and existing legislation)

ˇ Implementation of improvement plans and targets, and regular performance review with management

ˇ Compilation, quality assurance and analysis of environmental data

ˇ Driving improved environmental data forecasting and performance management processes within Asset

ˇ Developing and maintaining Environmental Management Systems

ˇ Facilitating external ISO14001 certification audits

ˇ Managing environmental contractors in delivery of studies and submissions

ˇ Environmental auditing of on- and off-shore installations in the UK and Netherlands

ˇ Managing the preparation and submission of a number of formal Environmental Statements for new developments

ˇ Conducting environmental impact assessments (ENVIDs) of proposed engineering modifications

SPECIFIC EXAMPLES OF PROJECT WORK

Waste Management Strategy & Plan, BP NW Hutton Decommissioning, UK, 2007. Technical author of Waste Management Strategy and Plan aligning BP, main contractor and subcontractors for the first full decommissioning of a large steel jacket installation in the North Sea. Including developing and agreeing waste management process, specific advice on requirements for removal, transportation and disposal of low-specific activity scale, subsea grout densitometers containing radioactive sources, and hazardous waste.

Flare Stack Decommissioning, BP Magnus, UK / Norway, 2007. Preparation and submission of Trans-Frontier Shipment of Waste Application to SEPA and SFT (Norwegian Pollution Authority) for recycling of redundant Magnus flare stack in Norway.

Cuttings Piles Assessment, BP, North Sea, 2007. Responsible for managing the production of a report assessing BP's UKCS oil based cuttings piles against OSPAR Recommendation criteria regarding contamination of the marine environment. Chris also represents BP at relevant industry trade association (OGUK) meetings.

EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) Compliance, BP Magnus, North Sea, UK, 2006 & 2007. Facilitated external EU ETS verification of CO 2 emissions from BP Magnus. Coordinated data collation and submission and coordinated improvement actions to ensure ongoing compliance with future requirements.

Drilling, Pipeline and Production Operations, Shell & BP, North Sea, UK, 2000-2007. Authored and/or managed and provided technical review of applications for chemical permits and dispensations from full EIAs for drilling appraisal and production wells, well interventions, workovers, pipeline installation, maintenance and decommissioning, and production applications. Submissions included risk assessment for chemical use & discharge and assessment of environmental impacts of the proposed activity.

Offshore Combustion Installations Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC), Shell Tern Alpha, North Sea, UK, 2006. Preparation and submission of PPC Permit Application to the UK Regulator to permit combustion equipment and associated emissions, as part of a cross discipline team. The Tern Alpha application was a pilot that was then used as a template for submissions for a further 15 installations.

Implementation of European wide EMS Auditing System, Shell EP Europe, 2005. UK representative on an internal team developing a coordinated EMS Audit system for Shell's European assets.

Oil Pollution Prevention and Control (OPPC), Shell Mature North Asset, North Sea, UK, 2005. Preparation and submission of permit applications for five oil installations covering all discharges of oil to sea. Managed implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure compliance with permit conditions.

New field developments, Shell Carrack, Cutter & Brigantine D, North Sea, UK, 2002-4. Responsible for providing environmental advice to development projects including two new unmanned gas installations and pipelines. Managed and authored three Environmental Statements for submission to the UK regulator.

Incident Investigation, Shell Cormorant Alpha Gas Release, North Sea, UK, 2005. Facilitated incident investigation of gas release causing East Shetland Basin shutdown using Tripod Beta.

Internal EMS Audit, Shell ONEgas Asset, Netherlands, 2005. Lead auditor for two week audit of Shell Southern North Sea asset covering onshore management, offshore installation and Den Helder onshore gas plant

Contractor Screening, AMEC Integrated Services Contract, UK, 2000-2002. Responsible for the screening of sub-contractors environmental performance and management systems.

Environmental Telematics, EIA Unit, University of Wales, UK, 1998. Conducted a desktop study into the potential for an integrated environmental telematics system in rural Wales.
