Responsibilities:

As a project manager, I'm responsible for monitoring and ensure that the civil design is done per international and local standards due to the fact that we deal with clients in USA, Latin America and Europe.

Indeed, I write daily reports of the activities of each team of engineers and architects, coordinating with them as well as contractors and clients in order to guarantee the satisfactory delivery of our final product.

As a civil engineer, I support the civil design team doing rough and fine grading, sewer and storm drain design; water network design; preliminary and final design of streets and highways; design of water and fuel tanks with capacities that range from 10,000 to 30,000.

Also, I prepare proposal and cost estimates as well as mentor entry levels engineers teaching them every Saturday basic concept of civil design.

Responsibilities:

I've worked in several residential and commercial projects, along southern California, doing civil design primarily. In those projects, I've refined my knowledge due to the fact that I was involved in depth from the beginning to the end. Indeed, in this position l was mentored by senior staff in land development; acquiring a valuable knowledge that had let me to understand and solve complex engineering problems.

Under this position a did mainly civil design such as rough and fine grading, storm drain and sewer design, street and highways design; and utility plans. All designs were made in compliance with the local and state codes.

Indeed, I've designed detention ponds, elaborated sewer area studies, design of Fuel Mod Plans and Tentative Tract Maps. Surface modeling. Prepare engineering and survey proposals. Coordination with clients and contractors. Schedule and supervision of survey field crews. On-site meeting with clients and superintendents. Survey calculations for construction staking purposes.

Responsibilities:

During this period of time I've worked in several projects in El Salvador from California, due to the fact that I came as International Student and I wasn't authorized to work in the US.

Mainly, the projects were civil design for rural communities and new developments. The work included but not limited to streets and access roads design, sewer and storm drain design, utilities, rough grading, water networks and calculation of earth quantities, surface modeling and cost estimates.

The clients were mainly private companies, and non governmental organizations such as Engineering Without Borders.
