· Thesis topic: A Wing Morphing Concept Based on Symmetric Composite Laminates & Piezoceramic MFC Actuators. Project tasks involved theoretical and mathematical analysis, developing Finite Element model of the wing morphing concept, commissioning of the test apparatus, manufacturing processes, product testing and presentation. Involved planning, organizing, time management and the ability to take self-responsibility.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2006 Summer SME Aerospace (Industrial Trainee)

· Conducted training at several different departments such as process planning office, CADCAM, tooling's planning office, sheetmetal work, machining, assembly department, material's surface treatment department, quality control and metrology lab, gaining valuable insight into production management as well as production processes.

· Contributed with the writing and distribution of paperwork such as process sheets, quotation sheets, and QC report as well as conducting project cost analysis, allowing me the opportunity to participate in business management.

· Assisted plant managers in ensuring smooth transition of the manufacturing processes by pre-planning production cycle 1 week ahead, ensuring deliveries to clients are on-time.

· Involved in Technical Review Board of 8 members that is responsible for identifying manufacturing faulty, making recommendations to resolve the problem and implement techniques to prevent similar problem from occurring in the future, utilising my analytical skills while practicing attention to detail.

2004 Summer HKY Unirise (Management Trainee)

· Worked cross-functionally with marketing, manufacturing and business planning in teams of diverse backgrounds.

· Successfully guided the company through conversion to new computer system, resulting in higher, faster and improved administration work productivity.

· Assumed an active role in the business strategy and marketing strategy of timber drying system's industry. Studied and conducted market research into the future of woodworking industry in South East Asia and Africa.

· Worked within a small project team, planning and executing on-site project's objectives, exercising project management skills throughout my internship.

· Exposure to budgeting and cost analysis (reduce timescale, cost and disruption). Recommended several safety features that were adopted by the company later.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Charity Work

· Medsin - Joined Medsin to help raise awareness of humanitarian and health related issues. Campaigns I was heavily involved in include Book Aid and HEART.

· Responsible for book collections from house to house throughout the winter terms from a network established by the society and help distributed HEART leaflets within the South Kensington vicinity and encouraged the public to conduct annual health check-up.

· Raised money for the tsunami victims by organizing fund raising campaign within the campus with fellow students at Imperial College. Managed to raise £2000.

Societies

· Assumed an active role in the production of yearbook year. Lead the fundraising team of 8 to find sponsors for the yearbook production. Managed to raise £1500.

· Completed terms as Boy Scout discipline master, year 2000. Led groups for camping trips, campfires and organised group outings and gatherings for junior members.

Sports

· Won Concord College Sunday League (football) during my A-Level.

· Represented my secondary school and district for 100m events and participated in open games and South East Asia's under 17 races, with a personal best time of 11.2 seconds.

INTEREST

Travelling

· Enjoy meeting people from diverse background and experiencing new cultures.

· Have travelled extensively in Asia and Europe for the past few years.

Sports

· An active member of the Imperial Malaysian Football club, taking part in tournaments and games organised.

· Occasionally play football in the park with friends as a mean of relaxation.

· Cycle as a mean of transport around London, and visit the gymnasium frequently.
