· Maintenance and repair of hydraulic pump unit and its controls i.e. cylinders, valves all relevant components in hydraulic systems control

  • Upgrading of existing plants designs and controls
  • Upgrading plant history to any modification when then need arises
  • Quick response to breakdown to reduce production lost time
  • Attend routine meetings with the Chief Engineer twice daily to analyse pending problems and discuss foreseeable problems

Electrical Shift Engineer 1985 - 1995

Main responsibility here includes;

· Maintenance and co-ordinating all electrical activities on my shift

· Liaising with other production sections, to ensure the smooth running of the factory.

· Writing report of events on my shift

· I was line manager to four electrical supervisors and four electrical leading hands and eight electricians.

· Responsible for maintaining one major plant for compounding which consist of :

· Two banburt mixers (each powered by 1500 Hp high speed induction motor and 800Hp low speed induction motor with 3.3kv capacity.

· Responsible for 3-bowl calendar plant for production of plyes and banners for cutting of plyes

· 12inch extruder with three extruding heads and cooling conveyors of similar arrangement to 8inch extruder plan with 350Hp D.C 415v, 1600amps capacity.

Steelastic machines for production of steel breakers

1 st & 2 nd stage tyre-building machines

Pocket making machines for earth mover, light truck and truck tyres production and about thirty five curing presses for final stage of tyre production.

· Four low-pressure compressors

· Three high-pressure compressors

· Servicing of five generators ranging from 2.6MW 11KV t0 1.6MW 315V to complement local electricity supply.
