Senior Well Cost Controller/Deputy Team Lead UK and Norway

To provide a complete and efficient SAP transactional process and cost control service to the EPE Wells Team in full compliance with Shell's accounting principles. Supporting and advising the EPE Wells team, delivering detailed cost analyses on current projects and preparing future wells for timely Approval For Expenditure. Assisting and enabling cost management and cost transparency as well as increasing cost awareness throughout the EPE community. I am also tasked with seeking process improvements on SAP, work management and other cost management activities in support of the Well Delivery Process. Developing conceptual solutions and translating them into practical implementation plans. I deputise for the team's supervisor and informally supervise the team on a day-to-day basis (9 persons). I coach and mentor less experienced CCs in the team and provide support for the Wells Cost Management process in a remote EPE location (including reporting to senior managers). I am tasked with maximising the benefits of SAP Blueprint for well delivery performance, by combining thorough subject matter knowledge on well engineering/well services with skills on finance/control techniques and processes.

Cost Controller TS/LOG

Responsible for the Budgeting, Forecasting and reporting of all logistical operations carried out from the Aberdeen office. Helicopter, Boat and Spot Hire costing, allocations, analysis and monthly variance reporting. Maintained the SAP support role and was part of a small team that regimented the coding system used across the Company, including the implementation of the new translations in a live environment. Additional major tasks included the Annual budget exercise and the implementation of new reporting formats and reports.

2001-2003 TOTAL FINA ELF plc

Cost Controller Elgin Franklin PUQ

Assisted the cost engineers in the final stages of the PUQ installation and commissioning phases of the project. Assisted in the absorbtion of the ELF buisiness process into that of Total and the production of structures and reports to maintain the ELF partner requirements. Translated the ELF SAP system codings into the equivalent TOTAL coding structures and assisted IT in the population of the financial data.

1999-2001TOTAL FINA plc

Cost Analyst EPJ/SER

Staff position within the engineering and Projects Group responsible for the

Main engineering contract with Brown and Root/Halliburton. Offsite company representative with responsibility for Budgets, Forecasting and reporting and assisting the Total Engineers in preparation and qualification of work packages and projects. Additional responsibilities include the master data integrity for the WBS structures maintained throughout the Company and the implementation of new reports. Assistance also given to the new satellite SAP users in Norway and the Low Countries.

Transferred to the new Projects Group with the same remit as previously stated and additionally, for the projects currently being undertaken, or planned, by Total in the UK. Employed within the Composites Division to clear the backlog created when the Group reorganised. Principle duties: Invoicing, stock control, work-in-progress calculations/monitoring, project analysis, and general duties assisting the Divisional Accountant as and when required.

Responsible for all aspects of the Agip Thelma project (£27M), including invoice approval, sub-contractor monitoring, foreign currency payment schedules, commercial reviews, forecasts, budgets, and monthly report production for management.

Working directly for the Chief Executive Officer on a variety of projects where a commercial or financial view was required. The position encompassed all aspects of management accountancy.

Accountant

Responsible for the day-to-day running of the main office that represented three of Dalgety's sites. Duties included all the main areas of accountancy. Particular duties included bank reconciliation's, commodity financing, depreciation and purchase of capital equipment and fleet vehicles, analysis of accounts and the preparation of the monthly management reports.





1988 - 1989 BRITISH AEROSPACE (ARMY WEAPONS DIVISION) PLC.

Project Accountant

Initially employed as the junior accountant on the Tracked Rapier contract with Her Majesty's Government (HMG), then as the Project Accountant responsible for three smaller HMG contracts. Responsibilities included cash forecasting, billing preparation, work-in-progress calculations, compilation of Government progress reports and contract reconciliation's.

1990 - 1993 ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE

Joined the RNR having initially been selected for a Permanent Commission in the Royal Navy in 1984 . Resigned from the RNR after the removal of the Reserve Minesweepers during the last major Defence Review as a Lieutenant.
