Employed by Amec as an inspection Engineer on the Bacton BBL

New phase of the National Grid gas plant. Responsible for the punch

Out of all pipe-work, the raising of punch-lists and close out of the

Remedial actions. Inspection of structural steelwork, releases for

Grouting and the punch-listing of outstanding works. Line walks

Of completed piping systems to ascertain mechanical completion,

Sign off completed systems in the Shell EDS system. Witnessing of

Hydro-tests and line walks for re-instatement after testing.

May 2006 -Site Quality Lead Arendal/ Emtunga yards in Sweden.

Site Quality lead on the Adriatic LNG project based in two yards at Emtunga and Arendal in Gothenburg on the construction of living quarters, jetty shelter and operation buildings. Duties included the

review and appraisal of quality assurance documents, quality plans and inspection and test plans. Review and correction of welding procedures and welder certificates,contractors quality documents and procedures. Inspection of materials and material control procedures, appraisal and audit of contractors nominated sub contractors for blast and painting and fire-proofing.

2000-2006. Quality Control Engineer/ Senior Inspector at Swan Hunter Tyne-side.

Responsible for the complete department of inspectors, certification engineers, NDT technicians, dimensional surveyors and painting inspectors. Past projects include FPSO construction, sub sea templates, modules and new build on two ALSL ships for the Ministry of Defence.

Duties inclusive of but not restricted to the setting up and auditing of the quality control system, welder qualifications, ship dry surveys, interpretation of radiographs TO AWS D1.1, ASME 1X, EN288 & 287, EEMUA 158, BS4515 Parts 1 & 2,ANSI B31.3, running of weld procedures, trouble shooting and problem solving. Liason with clients, surveys of compartments pre and post client inspections,organising daily inspection activities with a hands on approch to all aspects of inspection and quality control.

1999-2000 QA Engineer/ Office Manager for ABB PLC.

Working on the re-powering and new construction of the Peterhead power station at Boddam, Scotland. Duties included the management of all personnel, appraisal of all documentation and data packs prior to submission for final approval. Attending planning and progress meetings to comply with target dates, review of systems for mechanical release prior to hydro-testing and review of stress relieving charts. Radiographic interpretation of all pipe-work to ASME B31.1. Internal auditing of construction departments.

1999 QA Engineer for ABB PLC.

Employed on the Enfield Power Station as a QA Engineer compiling and reviewing documentation packs for fuel oil, raw water, power oil, boiler blow down and hydraulic safety systems. The interpretation of boiler pipe-work radiographs and all NDT reports.

1996-1999QC Engineer/ Senior Welding Inspector at Swan Hunter Tyne-side. Duties included assisting in the attainment of ISO9001, auditing all works departments, raising and closing out non conformance reports, the management and day to day running of all inspection personnel. Attending meetings, ensuring target deadlines were achieved. Projects worked on included Elgin Franklin sub sea covers, the Talisman Ross project and the Solitaire ship conversion for the Societe d'Exploitation du Solitaire. Work performed on stingers, bulkheads, helidecks etc.
