Position: Maintenance Engineer

Project: BBL (Shell)

Responsible for the creation of POPM's (Platform Operating Procedures) for Shell's Bacton reception facility. On-site liaison with client and support engineers. Laterally was team leader.

Position: Maintenance Engineer

Project: Britsats (Conoco / Philips)

Responsible for the creation of maintenance routines and procedures for Conoco Philips satellite installation.

2002 - 2004

Position: Reliability Engineer

Project: Shell Sigma 3

Responsible for the identification and elimination of the root causes of offshore equipment failures resulting in significant production loss or impairment to critical safety systems.

Close liaison with 3rd party and in-house HVAC expertise for the improvement of the HVAC systems on 15 Shell installations.

Responsible for addressing and closing out of 3rd party Verification Findings to ensure the compliance with each of the installation Safety Cases and Verification Schemes

Close liaison with the other Shell Reliability Engineers in Scotland, England, Holland and Norway to identify and implement best-in-class reliability improvement initiatives.

1998 - 2001

Position: Review and Improvement Engineer

Project: Shell ISC

Responsible for the establishment and updating of maintenance strategies, controls and procedures relevant to topsides installation maintenance, using analytical techniques and best practice.

Responsible for ensuring SAP PM data integrity through liaison with SAP Team Leader.

Responsible for ensuring the alignment of safety critical routines with their relevant procedures.

Involvement and partaking in numerous 'expert panels' for the ongoing Planned Maintenance Optimisation and implementation within SAP (Shell's preferred computerised maintenance system)

1996 - 1997

Position: IMIS Data Engineer

Project: Shell MMSC

Responsible for managing all IMIS related matters including ensuring the validity and integrity of Shell's IMIS database by maintaining it to Shell's IMIS data input standards.

Responsible also for the compilation of maintenance reports as requested by the platforms and onshore maintenance section.

Time also spent on several projects identifying and co-ordinating maintenance improvement initiatives.

Assisted in the preparation of a tender for a Shell integrated services contract, primarily responsible for aspects relating to benchmarking and maintenance strategy reviews.

Strategic Maintenance Engineering

January 1992-1995

Position: Project / Electrical Engineer

Responsible for the implementation of several maintenance strategy reviews for Shell's Brent field.

Responsible for the safety criticality categorisation of maintenance routines for Shell's Brent Field and Northern Plants.

Also responsible for:

· the writing of the electrical routines and procedures for Mobil's Gas Plant expansion

· assistance in the development of a computerised maintenance synchronising, scheduling and man-hour estimating tool.

· the presentation (onshore and offshore) of a computerised data logging and trending package.

· the monitoring, recording and analysis of fiscal metering data from Shell's Northern Business Unit.

· the recording and presentation of data appertaining to the power generation sets on Shell's Kittiwake platform, and analysis and presentation of data on Shell's IMIS system.

· various other ad hoc technical audits and performance indicating reports for several Shell departments.
