Objectives

I am actively looking for a new position to further my career. Professional Experience

1993 - Present Chatsworth Settlement Trust, Bolton Abbey

Clerk of Works / Contracts Manager / Facilities Manager

I am part of a small team of 3 people, whose responsibility it is to oversee all every aspect of the maintenance and re-development of the Duke of Devonshire's 35,000 acre Yorkshire Estate, comprising of over 50 farm, 200 residential properties, and various commercial dwellings including stately homes, restaurants, shops and a hotel and leisure club. I am charged with supervising the Estate's direct works staff as well as liaising with outside sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed to a high standard, safely, on time and within budget. I am involved in every aspect of building works management from initial concept and design, draughtsmanship, planning and building regulations approvals, overall project management, specification and JCT contract preparation for works up to a value of £ 300,000, general cyclical property maintenance, budgeting, quantity surveying, estimating, accounting, surveying of properties, liaising with tenants, quality control, stock monitoring and valuing, material sourcing and buyer, and vehicle, plant and equipment monitoring. I am also responsible for the provision and maintenance of potable water supplies to 98% of the properties on the Estate from springs and boreholes, and the drainage system to the vast majority of the Estate, including experience with bio-disc sewage treatment. I am conversant with and can undertake the new roll of 'Planning Supervisor' for long term works that are required under CDM regulations, and strive to remain up-to-date with new safety requirements. Client security and discretion is imperative for all regardless of circumstance, whether involving, The Duke, a visiting Royal VIP or an Estate tenant.

I am a weekend Duty Manager for the Estate, when I am placed in overall control of the smooth running of Estate including responsibilities relating to the visiting general public.

Having a general background of 25+ years in computer technology, I administer and maintain many computer-related issues for the Estate, inclusive of training other staff in their operation, and the completion of the Estate's website. I am fully conversant in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

I consider myself to be a person of integrity, and someone who can be depended upon to 'get the job done'. I work equally well as part of a team or on an individual basis. I am flexible in my approach to working, constantly looking for better ways to achieve the best result; giving 110% in everything I do; continually pushing back the boundaries of my abilities; thriving when under pressu re to meet deadlines.
