I attended a course in UCC for 1.5 years, I was studying construction management. As a result of working on a project with Ardmac Ltd, I decided that this was not the direction I wanted my career to go. I am currently looking to up-grade and up-date my skills and qualifications, so as to delve deeper into Fire safety/Engineering roles.

When I started I was heavily involved in leasing with the architect during the design stage of Phase 2 of an on-going project. This design was produced using a mixture of A-CAD, Microstation and a microstation added 3-d modelling application called speedicon.

After two months of this design I was asked to go to site to aid in a technical capacity. This was supposed to be making sure that the building was being constructed as per the construction drawings. This changed rapidly and I was setting out walls, dealing with quality issues, updating construction drawings on a frequent bases, Leasing with the main contractors package coordinator in relation to clashing issues and all types of quality and construction issues, Material tracking, material ordering, checking & updating Bills of materials, creating as built drawings, making sure materials are stored correctly on site, cataloguing damage to materials on site.
