SUMMARY STATEMENT:

I am a student at the University of Manchester and currently completing a postgraduate masters in Environmental Impact Assessment and Management.

The learning and experience I have gained from university has focussed my desire to be involved in the environment. My interest in these topics began at an early age - my family are farmers and rural and land matters have always been important to me; my interest was further consolidated at secondary school through my studies in Geography to Advanced Higher level. Furthermore I have completed my undergraduate dissertation on the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, undertaking this has further underpinned my desire to work in the environmental sector and more recently my Masters dissertation on farmer participation and uptake of Agri-environment schemes in Dumfries and Galloway.

During holiday time from university, I have sought to undertake as broad and varied a range of working experience as possible in different working environments to further enhance my chosen career path and future working life, most recently at British Nuclear Group.

By nature, I am a very focused person - creative, energetic, determined, resourceful, care deeply about issues impacting the environment and am fully committed to my chosen career path.

I am wholly trustworthy, punctual, hardworking, as demonstrated by the fact that I always organise my time effectively to complete my many study projects on time.

I am a good team player as demonstrated in my university group work contributions and group presentation work.

University keeps me very busy and in my leisure time I enjoy going to the cinema, meeting friends, reading and horse riding.

I am flexible and quick to learn and would welcome the opportunity to display the above skills in practice in the working environment in my chosen career path of environmental management/EIA.
