Employment History :-

Currently I am employed by Network Rail as Site Manager for the Kings Cross ReDevelopment Project, and have been since June 2006. This is a vast project, costed at £480 million, and will involve installing a brand new platform, as well as rebuilding the existing ones.

Also a new roof, to the main train shed, refurbishment of both main buildings, a new concourse facing St. Pancras Station, major utility diversions, installation of new substations and plant rooms, and a new underground service delivery area. The existing footbridge will be removed, a new one constructed, along with a series of passenger lifts, and escalators.

To date I have successfully managed major piling works, the construction of the roof slab for the underground service delivery area, the M&E stripout of the Eastern Range Building, the Diversion of HV Electrical Cables, Gas Mains, Water and Sewage Services on the Western Side of the Station. Currently I am managing the construction of an Access Deck to provide containment for the Main Train Shed Roof, and to enable specialist scaffolding to be erected. These, and forthcoming activities involve managing major contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Skanska, Laing O'Rourke Costain, McNicholas, and currently Morgan Est.

June 2003 to June 2006:- I was employed by AmecSpie, as a Site Manager for the Wessex Power Upgrade, which was a joint venture between Amec and Siemens, providing new demand driven substations , and their accompanying HV feeder routes, to enable the introduction of new rolling stock throughout the South West. To allow these works to proceed, much enabling work was necessary, from building access roads, to thrust boring through embankments, more orthodox UTXs, trackside crane lifts of modules, miles of troughing routes, both concrete and GRP types, as well as concrete bases, palisade fencing, etc., and finally the cabling up and electrical commissioning. During that period, I was personally responsible for the successful construction of 9 of these substations, and contributed to various degrees to several more.

Feb 2003 to June 2003 :- I was employed by Anders Elite to act as COSS for Site Surveys undertaken, preparatory to the works beginning on the Wessex Power Upgrade.

Oct 2001 to Feb 2003 :- I was employed by Grovetex to work as a Team Leader for a pilot Route Performance Programme on the London to Brighton Main Line. This was a joint venture between AmecSpie and Railtrack, and was aimed at reducing the train delay minutes by conducting a preventative maintenance regime on points, crossovers, impedence bonds etc., over and above the usual scheduled maintenance systems. Although considered highly successful, funding was withdrawn as part of the changeover from Railtrack to Network Rail.

April 2000 to Oct 2001 :- I was employed by Gannymede Railway Engineers as a COSS/Supervisor for a multitude of track maintenance tasks, from relays, to wet beds, trough laying, etc., in fact the whole gamut of activities undertaken by a maintenance contractor.
